Advantages: You get to really struggle with the Mic settings. Disadvantages: Trying to get the Mic. to work reallt takes up all your free time
...I am connected to Skype but cannot get the Microphone to work properly on my Fujitsu E8020D which is 2 weeks old as at 12 August 2006. The driver detects the Microphone being plugged in but the Mic does not work properly.
If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please contact me at hfester@vodamail.co.za
What bothers me most is that when I contacted the company whom I bought this laptop from ( Annex in Midrand South Africa), they told me they do not offer support. So much for offering 3 YEARS warranty and they cannot even offer me support 2 weeks later. DISGUSTING.
Yet the 3 identical laptops which is approx 6 months old works fine except for the 3 purchaed within the last 2 months.
Please email me if anyone knows how to solve this problem.
Thank you

I have given my card details to Fujitsu in order that they will collect my laptop, but if they try to charge me anything at all, I will dispute the charge through my credit card. I'll let you know how I get on.
In the meantime, the expert that I consulted told me that Fujitsu have previously only supplied to businesses, and it is only in the last 3 months that they have developed a range of "cheap" (I don't think so) laptops for the domestic market.
The general consensus of these domestic laptops among...

...download the newest 7.2 Catalyst drivers all should go well... Wrong. All you will get is a bunch of errors at first wanting you to install the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 then when you do that it simply does not recognize your graphics card and still gives you an error. Then people wonder why nVidia GeForce cards are so much more popular. I know that they are more expensive but I have not had a single problem with their drivers since 2001 when I got my first nVidia GeForce card. Now that I have it all reinstalled I will NEVER want to see this notebook again or any other notebook from Fujitsu until the end of my life. The guys at Fujitsu are either totally stupid or they do not give a damn and do not want to waste their time with Windows XP or 2000 users. I will not recommend this notebook to anyone I like....

I honestly cant pick any faults with this laptop at all, well except from the extremely high price tag, but if you’ve got the money to spend then what a machine to spend it on.
