Fujitsu Siemens have been making laptops for a while now, when they started making them at first I was a little sceptical of how good they would be, because they had no other previous history in designing or making laptops.
However Fujitsu Siemens are now in my top list of laptops I would buy or recommend to people and probably just come in third under dell and Sony vaio laptops.
Fujitsu Siemens have made quite a few different models, there has been the amilo, the esprimo, and now, the life book. All of these 3 different models have loads of other laptops branching out to suit your needs and different price ranges so there really is a lot to choose from.
The basic concept of the life book is a simple laptop that’s easy to carry around, without compromising on performance and that has great battery life to last you throughout all the journeys you might take this laptop on.
Because this is designed for transportation, the first thing ill note is the weight. It comes in at an incredible 2.2 kg, which is really light weight and its screen size is 14.2 inches which is quite small but I still think its amazing how they have got this laptop this light.
The next great thing about this s its battery life, it boasts up to 5.8 hours of battery life before running out. that’s nearly 6 full hours of battery life which is pretty incredible too, and I think it could actually be the best amount of battery life iv seen in a laptop before.
So with all that good news, you’ll be waiting for me to say its slow and has a little hard drive right? Well actually you’ll be impressed with that as well, as it has an amazing 2 gb of ram which runs the little laptop super quick, and a massive 120 gb of hard drive suitable for storing all that work you do in those 6 hours it can last.
This ram can even be upgraded to a maximum of 4 gb’s for all those people who want a super portable and super quick machine, and that’s really what it would be if you did this, it would be great. However this can be dear, especially if you don’t want to do it yourself and need to pay a computer technician to do it. Another downside to doing this yourself is the risk you might damage or break the laptop if you didn’t know what you were doing, and this wouldn’t be covered by the warranty so its best to get somebody who really knows what there talking about.
This laptop even has a built in card reader. This is a 3 in 1 card reader and can read SD Memory Card, Memory Stick, Multimedia Card. And even though most laptops now have 5 in 1 card readers these are the most common cards so this shouldn’t be a massive problem to most people.
Now with all that good news does come some bad news, and it’s a huge bit of bad news. This laptop will cost you over £1000. Now this is very, very expensive, however you must ask yourself if you need a laptop that can last you 6 hours, that fast and so portable, and if you do, then id go all out and get one of these little gems because they really are great.
