Definitely the best value machines available at the moment, with out actually building one yourself. I run an internet cafe with 30 fujitsu machines. I have found them to be very reliable and also in looking at their recent offers they are of outstanding value. Before getting into managing this internet cafe I used to work as a computer engineer for a public sector manufacturer, during that time I got to know which hardware, such as motherboards, hard drives, VGA cards etc..... were the real deal. Basically there is a lot of cheap rubbish hardware imported from Taiwan, that most computer manufacturers will use in abbundance in order to keep the price of their PC's down. I am glad to report that aside from perhaps not using the best quality motherboards, Fujitsu do maintain a first rate standard of hardware throughout their range. Most specifically their own produced hard drives which are probably the best quality currently around, they are stable, fast and nice and quiet.
Altogether I think they are the best at the moment, they are the largest producer throughout mainland europe, but not currently in the UK. My advice is that they are always worth checking out, after all high quality and low prices don't often go hand in hand, but in this case I can assure you that they do.
Advantages: Good spec PC at a good price Disadvantages: Terrible customer support means you're in big trouble if something goes wrong
Attracted by the adverts for www.underagrand.co.uk in the newspaper, I recently ended up buying a Fujitsu-Siemens PC from Nice PC. £999 inc VAT plus £30 delivery was a good price for a good-spec machine.
1GHz PIII, 256Mb RAM, 40Gb hard disk, CD-RW, DVD-ROM drive, 32Mb Geforce 2 graphics card, 17-inch monitor, Windows ME and a fistful of software. Delivery took less than a week and I was a very happy bunny -- until I tried to switch the machine off.
... ...things. It would not restart (using option in the Windows Start menu) without given a blue-screen-of-death error message, which required the whole machine to be switched off. It would also not shut down properly – it would just turn the monitor off, but leave the system unit humming away as though it was still be used. I had paid £1,000 for a machine that couldn't even do the basics.
Fujitsu-Siemens offer two support lines – a national-rate ...

Advantages: Very small footprint / Ideal for limited space Disadvantages: Only 3 PCI Slots and 1 Eisa (Shared)
...we recently have purchased several Fujitsu Scenic PC's.
These machines have proven very reliable and efficient for the money that we have spent upon the units (£420.00 + VAT each)
Considering that these machines are running PIII550 processors with 64Mb memory and a 10Gb hardrive as standard they can handle most basic office aapplications required in a general office enviroment. The unit comes with Windows 98SE pre-installed as standard, soundcard, ... ...discovered with these machines is that they only have 3 x PCI slots and 1 x EISA slot making expandability a little probelamatic for certain hardware requirements, but overall for general value for money and reliability I would recommend this machine as excellent value for money for almost any office enviroment. ...

Advantages: Upgradeability, accessability, standard components Disadvantages: Although helpful, the support and maintenance could be better, in particular the engineers attending need to be more considerate on the stressing of cables I think, and need to not simply resort to reinstalling windows as the catch all solution
...get reasonable support from the Fujitsu ICL helpdesk. I eventually managed to get the sound card replaced, even though there seemed to be some question as to whether the card was in fact faulty. On a particular piece of software the quality of the sound was unbearable, and although it did seem to improve after the new sound card, it did not become totally improved. On other machines this has required the making up of extra cables, connectors even to add a single extra drive, and other machines do not provide the same amount of space / mounting points as Fujitsu. Even the space for extra memory seems to have been carefully calculated to allow the maximum size memory boards ...

Advantages: Very Fast...good quality components Disadvantages: Poor service standards
I bought my Myrica piii 700 in May and have been very happy with the machine...not so happy about the customer service though. Logitech, who have the warranty service agreement are frankly useless....getting hold of them is ridiculously difficult. Having said that when I finally spoke to someone from technical support, a replacement for my monitor (there was a small problem with the refresh rate) was organised within 3 working days...so that was ... ...quite well...certainly very quick.
This is a machine for most people...priced at £1000 it was certainly the pick of the bunch when I was comparing machines against Tiny, Time and Elonex.
My only other gripe is that I think tech support is expensive.....I haven't checked my phone bill though...... ...

Advantages: good system, pretty fast, the samsung dvd is very good, ATI graphic is excellent Disadvantages: poor after care service - warranty
My experience has been somewhat good.
I bought a Myrica from Nice PC. The system's the following specs:
19" monitor, 128 MB memory, 30Gb hard disk, Samsung DVD, ATI graphic card, 800Mhz CPU. The only snag is that I had to have my 19" monitor replaced because it was faulty (still under warranty) and they gave me an old monitor 2 year old monitor to be precise with similar specifications. I complained and never heard from them. I spoke with their ... ...complaint letter and fax to their fault help desk ms young and never heard from her. not even to clarify the problem. I am also disappointed because it took them over a week to deliver the 'new' monitor and unfortunately after 3 weeks i still have the faulty monitor at home to be collected ... to be honest the after care service i received it is appalling. The system itself is quite good and never gave me problems ... anyone else had a similar problem? ...
