Advantages: Looks very nice cosmetically

...I've had the Hitach P50XR01U for a little over 2 weeks now and not being an expert, find the picture quality to my liking with plenty of adjustment to play with. The audio is not quite to my liking, being their latest 50" plasma TV I would have expected the quality of the audio to be much better. The main reason I bought this TV was because of the vast number of input/outputs on board. I've operated a karaoke business for 20 years now and often have karaoke parties at my house. I was horrified when I connected my JVC karaoke player and my KAM1920 radio mic set to the TV, using the inbuilt TV amplifier and internal speakers, there is a definate delay in the audio from the microphones being delivered at the TV speakers making it un-useable, I tried all the other inputs but just the same. Advantages: Good value, good number of connections,good picture, lighter than CRT. Good for gaming consoles.
Disadvantages: HD compatible only, No Digital TV tuner, Pedestal stand provided only, No Dolby Digital.

...I had a similar shopping experience as wrenny. She forgot to mention that Richer Sounds also provide 5 year warranty at 10% cost of this product. I found this a good replacement for my old standard sony CRT TV. It was far lighter than my old heavier CRT and was a doddle to get it out of the box and set up. The on screen pull down Menu's were similar set up to ms windows, and all text is readable within the confines of an average living room ( 5 x4 m) The picture from NORMAL BROADCAST TV is EXCELLENT( What Hi-Fi? recommended) even from my standard roof top aerial, which isn't even boosted. You may see this TV in Curry's etc. but with a sky signal. I advise you to get the shop to connect a DVD player to it for a better idea of its real potential.
