Originally when my Jornada was getting a bit old (4 yrs that is), I decided to start hinting about a new PDA.
The first Plan of attack was HP as my Jornada had been so reliable. But to my disappointment the Jornada's were no more!!!!
The left me the choice of an IPAQ *NOOOOOOOOOO* to my suprise it sounded quite good, until I read the Manufactures sales pitch....
"The HP IPAQ 5450.
Introducing the all new Compaq IPAQ 5450......"
This went on, HP and Compaq (now the same) could not make up their minds who built the Product! It had a HP logo but a Compaq Sales pitch!
This is when I thought "I cant stand Compaq and there is know way I want to own a HP PDA and know its made with Compaq Parts..."
This is when out of the blue I saw the Pocket Loox in PCworld (right next to an IPAQ 5450). Not only was the pocket Loox smaller it was lighter and Faster then the IPAQ, and with four times the amount of bolt on's like GPS, A Keyboard that the PDA Docked into, Compact flash & Compact Flash II, additional batteries and so much more.... But the best part it was nearly £100 cheaper *Grin*
If you haven't already guessed I now own a Pocket Loox 600, do I regret it *Hell NO*
The attention to detail helps in on this PDA for example the Infer Red is on the left side of the PDA unlike most HPs were it is on the top, this makes use of mobile phones and over infer red products easier as you can line them up on a desk better. Do you hate the Stylus that sits uncomfortable in you hand well the Pocket Loox has an Extendible Stylus so it fits in you hand like a normal ball point pen.
One might Say the main difference between the Pocket Loox and the IPAQ is that the Loox does not come with as much software... But WHO cares all the extra software on the IPAQ's you can download for free anyway and may I add the Loox is cheaper.
This PDA never leaves my side and so far has proved my robust then my old Jornada.
