Fujitsu Siemens RDX drive 160 GB

Advantages: design and very qucik
Disadvantages: no webcam on there

...without spending a silly amount on a laptop. For example, you could buy a 3 gb or even 4 gb of ram laptop, however these would go over the £1500 or even £2000 mark. Whereas this laptop only costs around £500 which for 2 gb of ram is a great price. Its doesn’t disappoint in hard drive space either, as it delivers a very impressive 160 gb of storage for all your files to be saved on. I certainly have never needed a laptop with more than 160 gb and have never even filled a laptop with over 80 gb of data before, however its always good to know you can basically put whatever you want on your laptop and the space will never run out. The screen size of this laptop is 15.4 inches. Which is around the average, and will be ok for basic laptop needs. Its not a great size for watching movies on however, and you might find it a little small... Read review

Advantages: Fast spindle speed, large buffer, high capacity, fast data speed
Disadvantages: May need SATA interface card

...and running, the speed difference was incredible. Going from a single 40gb drive setup with 2mb cache, i now had two 160gb drives in a Raid setup with 8mb of cache on each! The drives themselves are fairly silent in operation, no real clunking or high pitched whines. They dont get too hot, aroud 29c average. (but i have got them in coolermaster hard drive coolers). I have had problems in the past with Seagate and fujitsu drives, but have yet to have any problems with western digital. Although i have yet to do any benchmarks, i would say the upgrade was definately worth it - not only do i now have more space to fill, but its quicker too. Definately a recomended drive - even if you dont setup a raid configuration.... Read review

...Maxtor are one of the 3 leading hard drive manufacturers in the personal and business computing market at the moment along with Western Digital and Hitachi. They are also the cheapest. Unfortunately, the saying that price doesn't equals quality is true here. Too true. The 160GB version of the DiamondMax Plus9 can be purchased online from around £51.00 onwards. And with the way hard drive prices have fallen recently, that's not bad at all. But as I said, you're getting cheap quality to match the cheap price. The drive itself looks very similar to any other hard drive, and comes in both IDE ATA/133 and SATA 150 flavours, with the SATA ones easier to configure due to their jumperless installations.
