...Excellent monitor.
The screen is very sharp and clear.
It's 22 inches diagonally, and 16:10 widescreen ratio.
The resolution is 1680 horizontally, and 1050 vertically.
The screen is one of the glossy ones, which I was a bit against when I first started looking for a new monitor. HP call it "BrightView".
I was really thinking of a "satin" one, so I wouldn't get reflections, though the image from these tends to be a bit softer due to the diffusion of the light through the finish on the surface.
You do get some reflections when you look at the w2207 monitor in a store, but the lighting is usually far brighter than in a home setting.
Plus there are usually loads more lights over a larger area, signs, etc that make things look much worse than they actually are in a domestic setting.

Advantages: 22", Widescreen, good looking, excellent image quality, good moving image Disadvantages: No height adjustment, erm... it wasn't free?

I had actually been looking for a new monitor for some months, having initially discounted CRT (the big television type monitors) for being far too bulky for the screen size I had in mind (over 20 inches), my choice was TFT (or LCD) monitors.
I had a few criteria in mind. I was looking for something at least 22", preferably widescreen, a good contrast ratio and a quick refresh time (8ms or under) which was necessary for watching DVDs...

Advantages: Good picture quality, good design Disadvantages: Large base negates LCD space spabvng advantage
...I have owned this monitor for over a year now and am very satisfied. The picture quality is crisp and clean with different modes depending on what you are viewing. These modes do stuff like increase brightness or contrast for looking at photos or movies, i don't bother changing modes but i imagine they are useful for specialists.
The specs may not be the best you find on the market but I haven't noticed a difference, no ghosting, washed out colours or dead pixels in the whole time I have been using it
The design of the monitor is very good, all buttons (of which there are few) are small and discrete and there is nothing to distract from the screen itself. The base is a bit large buton any decent sized desk it isn't noticable. This screen also possesses the ability to be flipped 180 degrees to view thing in portrait, but you need to...
