Advantages view angle, rich and dense coulours, DVI input, neat design
Disadvantages lack of USB hub, overshot technology is not for gamers
Own this display for about half a year now.
Very neat design, bright and colorful picture. I had a professional CRT before, but that is nowhere near to this LCD panel. Its only drawback is that 8ms response time is achieved by so-called 'overshot' technology, which, in some cases, is visible: sharp edges leave trails as they move around the screen, so its not the best choice for hardcore gamers.
When not running in native resolution (1280x1024), scaling is done very nice, its ok to use it for text console or games in lower res.Changing input is slow: have to push button for 3 sec, then press that button again to select input. Since most of the time I have only one computer connected, it does not bother me at all.
The internal speakers are OK for everyday use, like low quality netradios, games. Not for hi-fi or hardcore gaming though. It can be muted with a push of a button, wich is quite useful. However, volume adjustment can be carried out only in the OSD menu. The stand is not perfect, adjusting the screen to the right angle requires a little bit playing around. The height adjustment and rotation is OK, though. It accomodates more space on the desk than it would be absolutely necessary, but still takes a lot less than my old 17" CRT.
The display, along with the 'soft' switch on the front, has a hard power switch, so you could completely turn it off, to prevent electrical surges getting through when not using it for a period of time. Its a bit tricky to reach, especially when the screen is very low on the stand. The menus are simple, covering all the functions needed, but you will not need them after initial setup, I am pretty sure. I did not use menus since I have it. Everything just... works. :)
I strongly recommend utilizing the DVI input. So much easier to set up yet picture quality is the best. Of course your display card has to have DVI output. For me, its an advance, that the 19 inch display has a native resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. For others, it might be a drawback. Its up to you.
All in all, its the perfect desktop display. Rich in colours, very bright, while black is just as black as a CRT. Good price/performance ratio.
