Initially I was pleasantly suprised by this game being very much strategy driven, having expected something of a shoot-em-up (Conflict desert Storm Style).
However as I played through the tutorial I became very annoyed with the 'gung-ho' things the soldiers in your squad constantly shout out. Every time you send your squad on a move, be it two meters or a mile they shout out things like 'let's go, move out' or 'alpha team let's rock'. This constant, repetative sound soon got to me and I was very annoyed with it...
Another let down for me was that if even 1 of your men died you failed the mission!
The actual game, however, is not bad, you have to think about staying in cover and outflanking your enemies. The game also features a replay option. This basically lets you review your mission upto the point were you died or failed the mission allowing you to 'jump in' and play from any point you choose.
Another poor point was that the game is only 1 player, unless you have your x-box hooked up to Live! which unfortunately I have not so can not offer any review on the multi-player angle of the game.
If you fancy a change from shoot-em-ups and want to try your hand at tactics then give this one a go, otherwise I would advise to stay well away.
i was going to write a review myself but you have already done it for me!
it is full of american gun ho slang! perhaps if they had the troops crying and blowing up the british soldiers in the game it may have been perfect!
i do agree that the game play is good and the graphics are impressive. also a very different kind of strategy!
