Rose Bruford- My audition and opinions
Advantages: Great people, great place Disadvantages: Short first audition, hard work
Rose Bruford is like most top quality drama schools, unique. It attracts a relaxed but determined persona, and is one of the only places I have seen where they do not try and make you fit their 'mould', they meet you wherever you are in your ability and help discover and acting process that suits you. For me, what's attractive about the college campus is that it has all the advantages of london, such as being close to agents and top theatres, but ... ...space and landscape. In terms of reputation, I would reccommend looking at their website, www.bruford.ac.uk since the news section is constantly being updated with their many acheivements, thanks in no small part to the fantastic new head of acting Iain Reekie. Jess Gunning walked straight into a lead part in Major Barbara at the NT after leaving, Francis Ortega won the prestigious Spotlight Prize for Best Actor 2008, Tess Butler won the Lilian Baylis ...

Dramatising a LAMDA Piece...
Advantages: Good qualifications, enjoyable to do. Disadvantages: Requires dedication, effort and hard work.
INTRODUCTION
LAMDA stands for The London academy of Music and Dramatic Art. I discovered LAMDA when I attended a theatre college. In the LAMDA exams I took, it was for drama. This review is all about the drama side of LAMDA, about how the whole system works and how to dramatise a LAMDA piece. Thsi review does not deal with the music side of things. Partly because I have insufficient experience and also because LAMDA is so wide and diverse that to ... ...how qualified I am in LAMDA and how far I have managed to progress. In total, there are 8 grades followed by 3 medals. Although I have not taken any medal examinations I have had a lot of interaction with people who have. However, I have passed though all 8 grades below medals.
WHAT IS A LAMDA PIECE?
A LAMDA piece is a monologue or speech for a character from either a book, a film or a play. For example, there is a LAMDA piece for the artful dodger ...

Auditioning for East 15
Advantages: Probably the best school to offer an MA. Not at all pretentious. Disadvantages: Rapidly improving reputation but doesn't have the prestige of some drama schools
...different experience of auditioning for east 15 than lubbly jubbly. I admit I came to audition for East 15 with prejudice. I had first heard of East 15 back in the 80s when I studied Theatre and Performing Arts at a local college. East 15 was not particularly highly thought of at the time. I spent 15 years working in the real world before deciding to make a leap of faith and return to my first love, Acting. I auditioned for East 15 because of advice ... ...who chose to go to East 15 over these schools. I still attended with prejudice however. I was surprised to find I loved the place and thought the audition process was very intelligently managed. Differently to when lubbly jubbly auditioned, when I attended the MA group separated from the BA groups. There must have been 200 auditionees the day I auditioned and yet they still managed to keep the groups down to approx 10-15 per group which was more ...

Not just a uni!
Advantages: excellent tutors, great city, excellent auditions Disadvantages: exhausting
As a student of Manchester Mets BA Acting course i wanted to share my opinion. Firstly the audition process is by far the best i have encountered. You spend the whole day warming up,meeting people, getting to know other candidates, which puts you in a prepared state to audition. The course itself is constantly challenging, you constantly take in information and must be very determined to attend here.It can be mentally and physically exhausting as you ... ...is performance and showcases in Manchester and London to prepare us to go out into the world as actors.
The tutors are incredably talented people and all teach in different ways, giving you a very rounded view of the world of acting. The course is three years long and during that time you train and understand what is required of you to be an actor. One of the best things about this school is that it is 1 of 3 universities that is accredited, meaning ...

Famous for five minutes?!
Advantages: very well known school Disadvantages: awful audition process
...year i was going through the long and tiring process of finding the right drama school for me.This involved many many auditions, Welsh College was one. The Welsh College Of Music And Drama has an excellent reputation (mostly due to the now famous actors who trained there) and is situated in central Cardiff. The city itself is beautiful and before the audition i thought,i could really like it here. However..
When i got to the audtion, a group of ... ...for a singing audition and the rest of us (after five minutes audition time each) were sent on our way.A five hour journey home for a five minute audition!
I was extremely angry at the way this process was handled,no warm up,no chance to ask any questions,no real chance to show your true potential. I paid £30 for that five minute audtion, plus double that on train fare!
I know this doesnt give a true opinion on the school itself but as auditions ...
