This is just the shortest of reviews because I noticed that reviews for it were a little thin. I promise to replace this with a more comprehensive effort after more use.

Advantages: It's cheap. Disadvantages: Simple to use - I don't think so.

Main problem - given you have a VCR, and a blank DVD, it would seem logical that it was possible to plug in the box, and press a few buttons - or even use the remote. Not ... ...a TV. Not the end of the world, but anyone with a DVD, VCR, Digibox etc., will know that just finding a way to plug anything new in is a pain.
I eventually found a spare TV, not used for anything, and got started. It wasn't the hardest process, but not exactly what you'd call user friendly. With a broadcast quality VCR, the conversation to DVD worked well. The poorer the VCR, the poorer the DVD.

The commands and menus have to be displayed on a TV. Not the end of the world, but anyone with a DVD, VCR, Digibox etc., will know that just finding a way to plug anything new in is a pain.

My personal opinion is that the set-up and manual are not that user friendly, although they both suggest that it's possible to do more than you think, if you've got the time to read, and re-read, how to do it. Although if anyone has a use for DVD to VCR conversation, I'd be surprised.
Fortunately, I can be somewhat of a pedant, and will do my best to properly test all the features in the next few weeks. Until then, I can't really recommend this bit of kit. But hope time will prove I can.
Advantages: Very easy to operate Disadvantages: Maybe not the highest spec
I'm afraid this review won't help you with anything very technical. This dvd/video recorder doesn't have Divx or a hard drive and it is probably missing some other features that you might want if you are really into the technical stuff. But what I can tell you is that this is really easy to set up and really easy to use and it certainly has everything that I want or need for a very good price.
I wanted to replace a separate video recorder and dvd ... ...never able to get it all sorted so that I could record on all stations. But with the single unit it is so much easier to set up.
I haven't used all the features such as editing yet, but the menu system is very straightforward. This is the perfect machine to replace a video recorder. It is great for recording everyday programmes using a -DVDRW which can then be formatted for use again. If you want to keep a recording permanently just use a -DVDR. ...
