I think I've got the biggest headache ever. If only I had a volume control on these things. If I could describe a furby, I would describe it as a mixture between a hamster and an owl because it's... more

Advantages Advantages Unique, a great toy for everyone

Disadvantages Disadvantages Complicated instructions, time consuming

While many Furbies by now have been sold, broken, been put to sleep, or even chucked in the dustbin never to be seen again, my Furby (Ko-Ko) is right next to me now, talking away, laughing, dancing and burping! I have to admit he has been asleep on my window shelf for the last couple of years…….but he is happy to be alive again! So why did these little computer run critters become so popular so quickly and then fall off the edge of the earth sooner than you can say next Christmas? Like many poor little toys children (and adults!) just got fed up of these creatures and found a ... more

5 Stars Really Cute Furball Review with images 02/01/2006
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Really cute and Keeps children happier longer than some toys

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cannot learn it to say something is has not been programmed to say

I have now got two furbies. The first furby I bought was for myself. I just liked the look of them, and when I first bought it, I misleadingly thought that I would be able to get it to say almost anything. However this is not the case, as the furby is only programmed to say what it has been programmed to. The only way to alter this is to strip the furby down, and reprogram it. If you are the type of person that would enjoy a challenge, that could be really interesting. I ordered my first furby from Littlewoods catalogue, so I wasn't able to pick the colour I wanted; however the furby I ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good fun, cute

Disadvantages Disadvantages I wouldn't have parted with my hard earned cash!

As many of you may already know my partner, Dave, has recently changed jobs following his successful achievement of a ‘first’ in his BSc in Business Information Systems. The job he left was as a Project Leader in the IT Department of Wolverhampton University. So what did his boss buy him as a leaving present? Why a Furby of course! Now what else would you buy a successful 32 year old man? Mind you he is cute – the Furby I mean not Dave – although I suppose he’s cute too but in a different way! Sorry, I’m being silly now. I’ll get back to the subject in ... more

Advantages Advantages loveable, funny, keeps the kids happy

Disadvantages Disadvantages my two year old keeps waking them up!

There they where, sat on the shelf in the living room looking at me, I hadn't played with them for 4 years, no wonder they looked bored! I got my first Furbie Noo Loo at the height of Furbie mania, though it was slightly after the first rush, my Furbie baby Mee tay in 2000 and my gizmo as soon as it came out and I had a birthday to justify it! I bought my little loveys before I had kids and now i've got two, i thought it was about time I reinstated them in to the family and let my 2 year old have a go! Big hit! Remember what a furbie is? Its a little electronic pet, looks like a furry parrot ... more

    Advantages Advantages Awwwwww

Disadvantages Disadvantages Will someone take those batteries out !!!!

My Furby still can’t speak any English yet, but she has started doing an impression of a telephone: “Bring Bring...Bring Bring...”, belching loudly, and farting after I have fed her. I don’t know whether this is a reflection on me or on the Furby. When I first got her, carefully unscrewed the battery compartment in her plastic base, and installed four long-life AA batteries, she told me her name was Mee Mee - “Me Mee Mee”. Having played with my Furby for a few weeks now, I can see where she got her name from: Furbys do sleep, but when they are awake they almost equal a small child in their ... more
