Advantages Advantages No chemicals of irritants in the material unlike in disposables, environmentally friendly

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be fiddly and at times messy

Hippie Mama! I am completely aware that some mothers still see cloth nappies as old fashioned, expensive, unhygienic, a hippy trend, or something similar, but I think that it is 100% worth researching into cloth nappies if you have a baby or are expecting. There is so much information and advice available out there for free on the Internet and in magazine articles regarding non disposable modern cloth nappies, and I think that many parents (and even non-parents) would be horrified to learn exactly how many horrible chemicals are lurking in modern day disposable nappies. Did You Know? For ... more

Advantages Advantages Cute colours and very good containment

Disadvantages Disadvantages Notthe most absorbant and poppers, not velcro

Well here I am, finally getting time to write another review after a busy house move and having a beautiful baby boy!!! I decided to use cloth nappies quite late on in my pregnancy after several people told me that there are a lot more nappies available than the old squares…so I set about my research! It was recommended that I get several varieties to find out what suits us best so be prepared for many more nappy reviews!! (Mostly written one handed with my cloth bummed babe in the other! ]Fuzzi Bunz is a pocket nappy made primarily in the USA although I believe that the supply was so great ... more

Advantages Advantages Fleece inner helps keep baby dry, stuffable insert means its customisable for wet containment

Disadvantages Disadvantages bit expensive to kit out in initially

FuzziBunz are not just a one piece reusable nappy. They are more a two piece system, with the FuzziBunz itself acting as a fleece lined nappy wrap. You have the breatheable water resistant PUL cover with softly elasticated legs, and a microfleece inner liner, which acts to wick away the wet and keep baby's bottom nice and dry :) Poo shakes off fairly easily off fleece, but personally in case its liquidy, I prefer to also use a flushable one way liner on top. It is more slim fitting than many All in Ones I have seen. The fleece inner has an opening at the top creating a pocket in which you can ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, quick drying, slim fitting

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I has always liked the idea of using reusable nappies instead of disposables but thought it would be too awkward, expensive and time consuming. I had looked about online at guides and shops but was overwhelmed and confused by all the information. Then, one of my friends (who had been using reusables for a while) talked me through all the different types and how it all worked. When I realised all the benefits I decided that the pocket/stuffable type nappies sounded like the best option, they dry nice and quickly (a good idea if you don't want to have to buy loads) and were straightforward to ... more

I am a recent convert to 'Fuzzi Bunz' re-useable nappies and I shall endeavour to tell you why. The Fuzzi Bunz consists of a layer of waterproof fabric (PUL) and a layer of thin fleece (think fleece jacket, not sheeps fleece!!) sewn together to make a nappy-shaped "pocket". This pocket is stuffed with absorbent matter of your choice. The 'stuffing' could be, terry squares, booster pads, pre-folds .. but I use 2 microfiber cloths (£1 each from Poundland) folded into 3 and this makes a nice, slim fitting, highly absorbent nappy. At nighttime, you can pop in an extra cloth to make it more ... more
