Not many people have any knowledge of graphics tablets, and if you're not really sure then don't bother with this one. Having looked around for some time at the 'range' I plumped daringly for the G2.
Having got it home everything looked okay. Not too large, pen and mouse, everything you'd expect. The most attractive feature is probably the serial port connection to the PC, in a world where most input is via USB.
So having plugged in and inserted the driver disc, it took 7 attempts for the computer to recognise the presence of the tablet, and even then it wasn't sure. The infamous blue screen appeared more than once, the printer wasn't happy and the sound card wasn't friendly either - conflict!
Having installed the drivers, the free software could be installed. As far as free software goes it wasn't too bad, but a little clunky. The tablet was compatable with the programmes I use - Adobe Photodeluxe, iPhoto Plus and Paint Shop Pro, and is very handy for editing scanned or digital camera images.
The feel for the tablet is very poor, and doesn't correspond well to the on screen image. After a week I decided to give a different product a try, so the G2 got returned to the box and shop! If I were you, don't bother with this one!
