A useful replacement for the Wii sensor bar

Advantages: A relatively cheap spare sensor bar. Good for a second TV or a quick replacement.
Disadvantages: The cable is still flimsy. Other sensor bars are even cheaper.

The Wii might have been the best thing to happen to console gaming since, well, at least the Xbox 360, but the need to install the sensor bar rather ties you to a particular television. It works via two infra-red LEDs which send out signals that are picked up by the Wii-mote which calculates its position via triangulation; accelerometers in the Wii-mote allow it to recalculate its position when out of sight. Since all the complicated electronics are in the Wii-mote and the console, the sensor bar is a relatively simple bit of kit; it is, however, crucial to the operation of the console as a whole. Best Wii game yet!

Advantages: Good group game, Great game variety, Loads of fun to play
Disadvantages: None

'Missions' to achieve, trophies and medals to collect, and there are also mini-games, relatively unrelated to the olympics theme which are a refreshing change, and adds to the fun of playing with the Wii. The game is particularly good to play in groups of especially 4. In the high speed games such as the 100 metre sprint, it gets everyone really hyped up and is a great laugh! The variety within the characters is kept constant as in certain games, such as the swimming events, different characters having different swimming stoke types and so each type playing the game can be different. Another advantage is that all the games are also able to be played with the Wii remote alone. This was an advantage in our house as we only had one Nunchuk to 2 Wii remotes, but it meant that we could still play 2 player, but just having one person playing ...

Great game for wii

Advantages: Great use of wii controls, many events, great multiplayer fun
Disadvantages: may sometimes get a little tired
