Advantages: I got insurance on my car Disadvantages: They don't even bother reading emails + double your premium because of their incompetence.
I had bought a replacement car when the old one went to that scrapyard in the sky, and was keen to find some value-for-money insurance. So, I went on a couple of comparison sites such as gocompare.com, confused.com and moneysupermarket.com. Some of the prices were pretty good, I guess since I have been claim free since passing my test in 1995, female driver, only doing the social, domestic and pleasure (i.e. school runs, grocery shopping, bill paying, ferrying elderly relatives about etc) so I decided to upgrade from Third Party Fire & Theft to fully comp. I had had a quote off the insurer I was with (Hastings) but they wanted £25 to change my policy and another £80 because I had gone from an N reg to a T reg. Hence, much cheaper to go elsewhere and tell them to shove it.
So, the AutoTrader insurance was slightly better priced ...
Advantages: Good clear sections for different car prices Disadvantages: Really small print
AutoTrader is one of the most pointless magazines ever. It isn't that good and there are loads of people selling rubbish cars for twice the price you should. It is also a really expensive ripoff. £3.25 for a magazine which just shows how many people are trying tp con you.
The photography is appalling, with the odd exception, but mainly it is rubbish with even some cars with the wrong picture on the ad. The content isn't that good and there are so many short cuts like ew (electric windows) and other ones you've neer heard of before that you need a car terms dictionary to find what they all mean.
I would say don't buy this; shop around at your local garage or go on autotrader's website which is much better (www.autotrader.co.uk). ...

Advantages: COVERS ALL OF YOUR LOCALITY IN ONE GO Disadvantages: YOUR ADVERT ONE AMONGST MANY FOR SAME PRODUCT
So you've been out and bought the car of your dreams. Well maybe not a Ferrari but something better than what you had. Now you only have one major problem left. HOW TO GET RID OF YOUR OLD CAR.
You could hit lucky and advertise for peanuts in your local paper and immediately find a buyer, hoewever, this only normally happens if you are selling something a little special. Many people like me have had to find other options.
I have used Autotrader on a couple of occasions and submitted photograph, description etc on line. I have then waited for the magazine to come out and waited and waited and waited. Then I think was the advert entered so I fork out another arm and a leg for a magazine. Yes it is along with another 6 adverts for 6 similar cars in my area, all at varying prices. I have not yet sold a car through autotrader ...
