GHD Mark IV Styler Hair Straightener

There are a lot of debates over GHD's and whether they are any good or not, and whether other straightners are just as good but at a fraction of the price. I must say I love my GHD's!!

I am currently on my 2nd pair of Ghd's, I had my first pair for around 2 years at a cost of around £100, until they broke (sob sob). Many people did tell me to just get another brand of straighteners because they are just as good. I have used some of my friends starightners which aren't Ghd's and I can tell the difference, Im sure you would get used to them, but they still dont seem as good, so I opted to splash out and treat myself to a new pair.

The design is sleek and slim, they aren't heavy or weighty (especially important if you take them on holiday like I do!). They heat up very quickly, so perfect if your'e in a rush. It has a round barrel so they can be used for curling, although I haven't mastered this technique yet, so any tips on curling your hair with Ghd's are more than welcome! They also have an auto sleep mode, which means they turn themselves off if they havent been used for aorund 30mins. The ceramic plates makes the straightners glide down your hair, leaving your hair perfectly straight. My hair is quite thick and naturally wavy so it can get quite frizzy, and I find that these straightners definately sort that problem out. The plug and lead to the straightners is also quite long so you should be able be in easy reach of a plug and a mirror!

I dont think anyone can debate whether Ghds are any good or not, I think most people do agree that they are a great pair of straightners, its just the price which may put a lot of people off.

I did not buy my straightners from here, I went into hairdressers who stock GHD's and the prices I was told were for around £120, so I decided to have a look on the internet and have a shop around. You do have to be very careful and make sure that they are genuine, if you think the price is too good to be true, then it is probably too good to be true and they are probably fakes.

I brought my Ghd's from Look Fantastic (www.lookfantastic.com) and they cost me about £95 with a free look fantastic heat mat, they came fully packaged in the GHD box and were a great find. They have a range of offers and promotions on, the cheapest I have seen them for is £95.99 and if you shop around on the internet there is discount codes for around £2 which knocks the price down even more, and it is also free delivery at the moment.

If you work out the cost per use, then if you use your straightners once a week and buy them at a £100, then it works out at arounf £1.90 per use, and if like me you use them more often then you will get your money back per uses! Just remember they do get hot, so use some heat defence spray on your hair before using them!

I think they are a great pair of straightners and I really dont know where I would be without them!
