Counting Calories with Rosemary Conley

Advantages: common sense, excercise included in class
Disadvantages: no free membership after target weight, pointless free CD

My biggest achievement so far in 2005 has been losing 2 stone in 13 weeks. I could not have done it without Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness clubs. I have been gradually gaining weight for about ten years. At a size 18-20 on my lower half I was a bit depressed at my appearance. I have tried to diet by myself but I always chuck it in after one too many packets of crisps that have tempted me. I had thought about slimming clubs in the past to motivate myself but I was not sure I wanted to spend £5 a week on being weighed and lectured. So what was different about Rosemary Conley? The main difference between Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness clubs and other slimming clubs is the emphasis on fitness. Review of Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness Clubs

Rosemary with a hint of Salsa!

Advantages: Fun workout, good music tracks, Rosemary is encouraging
Disadvantages: Might take a while to get the steps

do. The best thing to do with these workouts, after mastering the basic steps, is to combine both the Level 1 and Level 2 workouts for a really good workout for your body. It is the combined workouts which Rosemary says can help you lose UP TO 500 calories in one go, pretty good going really! The 40 minutes went quite quickly for me, and I found Rosemary encouraging, but not irritating, unlike some other presenters of fitness DVD's I own! It is quite focused and there is no mucking about, so it is a serious, but in a way, fun workout to do. Now the DVD also comes with 2 tone-up sections. These both last for 10 minutes each and each one focuses on different areas of the body. The first one focuses on your Upper Body and your abs. The second is your hips and thighs. Still good after all these years

Advantages: Not like a diet at all.....!!
Disadvantages: none I could find

I first bought the Hip and Thigh Diet book when it came out in 1989 and must admit I was very sceptical about it. How wrong I was.....!! I didn't have much weight to lose, I had put on a few pounds after being "idle" when I broke my leg and ended up in plaster for 5 months. I had tried other "faddy" diets before but nothing had worked, so when I saw this book I decided to give it a go but didn't exactly hold my breath. I enjoyed reading about how she "discovered" the diet, after being diagnosed with gall bladder problems and she decided to cut out fat from her diet - and she noticed how the weight dropped off her. I loved the way Rosemary Conley listed the good and bad foods, forbidden and allowed ones. Also the tables at the end of the book (easily accessible) listing grams per ounce of fat in foods.
