...I run a small business (hobby more like) making budget made-to-fit PC's. I don't believe that new PC buyers should be dazzled by gigabytes of power with awesome ammounts of Front Side Bus (FSB) and peripherals that most people dont use anyway like webcams or scanners. The packages that the likes of "PCplanet" put together can be ridiculously overpriced for what your getting. I mean, does anyone really need a 3.0gig cpu for printing out some wedding invitations? No of course not, but I bet they paid well over £600 for the PC and pretty much like a new car, a brand new PC will lose money overnight.
PC parts have come a long long way in a very short space of time. I remember being dazzled by my first CD writer and the amazing speed of 12X burning! Wow. It was an Acer and I tell you something else, did I get my moneys worth out...

Advantages: Quick transfer speed, Disadvantages: Fairly Bulky
...What can i say this is an internal had-drive which obviously integrates within a computer system. Nowadays 80GB is not enough for anyone as programs are now increasing in size due to their complexity and what they have to offer.
A hard drive is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Non-volatile storage is simply the name given to a storage device which can retain stored data even when not powered. With a volatile storage device being one that can not retain saved data e.g. RAM (Random Access Memory).
I used to have an 80 GB hard drive in the past on my "OLD" PC, which was about 5 years ago. Now i have a 300 GB hard drive which i have to admit is filling up really quickly. Due to the number of files stored e.g music, photo, video etc.
This particular hard...

Advantages: This great machine offers many upgradable options and very easy to install Disadvantages: it is rather big and heavy to move around
...I moved to apple from PC 5years ago and have never looked back the hardware and software and technical help you receive is second to non. I upgraded from an IBOOK G3 to the powermac G4 mainly for the option to expand in hardware such as more ram, hard drive size and other extras like TV cards etc. for this reason alone very quickly and easily i was able to run a 2gb ram, 500gb hard driveG4 supercomputer with TV card too and for a fraction of the cost if i were to buy it all pre-installed. So this computer allows a complete novice to open up and add RAM, HD and PCI card upgrades easily, and for that alone it should win awards. But awards should also go to the overall design, look and feel of the machine and not just the tech speck. for this machine is not a boring magnolia or black box that you would want to hide away if it were a PC...

As with many people out there, the USB flash drive device is a very important part of my life. Any documents that i produce on the PC are always backed up on the memory stick just in case the PC crashes and everything is lost. Not only would this take a... more
