If you look at your computer keyboard on the top row of keys on the right hand side you’ll see the ‘Prt Sc’ key, the one that captures a print of the screen that you are currently looking at. It’s a very handy facility to have but notorious for not working properly & being a little restrictive.

I find it very handy when your browsing through websites looking for something & come across similar offers, printing a copy of the various screens allows you to look again & compare later on. It is also very handy for quickly passing on information by email to a friend.

The basic requirements for downloading the software are that it’ll work with Microsoft Windows 98, ME, 2000, 2003, XP, Vista or NT 4.0 SP6, they also state that if you are running any of these systems with a Windows compatible mouse or pointing device then your system has already met the minimum requirements. A full installation of Gadwin Print Screen requires 5 megabyte of hard drive space.
Downloading the software doesn’t take very long & is simple to set up. I’m no expert when it comes to computers but I found it very easy to install & very easy to get to grips with the system. There are clear & easy to understand instructions that also get downloaded with the software.
USING GADWIN SCREEN PRINT
Whilst looking through some websites I just have to press the regular ‘Prt Sc’ key & the image on the screen is immediately duplicated, you are taken to a menu screen showing the copied page & you have some options on the right hand side of the screen.
You can cancel the screen image or save to a file which has been automatically inserted into your ‘Documents’ folder when you downloaded the software. Here you can also make changes before filing it away.
You have to remember it will only copy the image on the screen, so if the page you are looking at takes up the equivalent of two full pages you’ll only see a small portion of it.
Once you have filed it away, a confirmation box comes up to let you know the task has been completed & you can go on & continue browsing & capturing as many screen prints as you like.
You can choose where you want them stored or if you want them printed right away or emailed to friends. You can zoom in & out of the image & also choose the wording on how they are filed, it is a very reliable & flexible system which is all free of charge.
It’s not something you’ll use everyday but it does come in rather handy from time to time & I would recommend those screen capture software to anyone.
