I have worked with Gaggenau appliances for more than 4years and my confidence grows on the brand every day. Many of you may not have heard of the brand, maybe due to the fact it not being a common household appliance such as Neff and Bosch that are available in large stores like Comet and Curries but a brand above the norm and available through middle to high endkitchen retailers.
The History: Gaggenau is a name of a small town in Germany. In 1880, whilst the Industrial Revolution helped people with ideas, a factory in the small town of Gaggenau was the place known for where products 'came to life'. It was a place that manufactured enameled signs, coal and gas stoves and bicycles. Gaggenau became a known brand internationally
after 1961 when a passionate chef took over the reins of the factory and started to manufacturer top quality modern built-in kitchen appliances. Since then, Gaggenau has been well known for its flawless design, high grade materials, simplicity and perfection in there workmanship.
The Range: Gaggenau have quite a vast range of built-in appliances for all your cooking needs. The range consists of Ovens, Steam Ovens, Warming Drawers, Microwaves, Hobs, Ventilation, Fridges, Freezers, wine coolers, dishwashers, coffee machines and laundry appliances. There is too many to write about so I will only mention a few of my favourites.
Ovens - In total there are 9 ovens in the range, all in different sizes and various functions. With some of the range of ovens, there is an additional accessory which I would definitely recommend, which is a baking stone with pizza paddle. With this you can bake fresh pizza's in a matter of 6-7minutes and have the taste of clay-baked Italian pizza. Something that is very simple to do which even children can enjoy by making there own (with parents help) and then watch them bake in the oven through the panoramic glass front. Other functions include a Rotisserie which is basically a long skewer in the middle of the oven that rotates ensuring all sides are evenly cooked. Perfect for a Sunday roast or even kebabs.
Combi Steam Ovens - A very popular product that Gaggenau is well known for and almost takes over having a microwave in your kitchen. Cooking by steam is the healthiest way of cooking ensuring all the vitamins, taste and colour of your food are retained. With the Gaggenau Combi Steam Oven you can not only steam cook your fish, vegetables, chicken, pasta, rice ….etc etc….but it also acts as a hot air conventional oven. This enables the chef to control the combination of hot air and humidity into the appliance. Sounds complicated, I know but to cook with combination, allow you to brown/crisp on the outside and keeping it moist on the inside. For example, the appliance can be used to bake bread. The inside of the bread retains soft and moist and the outside crispy.
Warming Drawers - These are such a handy appliance that not only warm your plates before you serve food but can keep food warm, defrost, proof dough and come with 4 different temperature zones with a fan for even heat distribution.
This is just some of the products and benefits that make Gaggenau different from the rest. For more information on the range of appliances you can visit www.gaggenau.com
To see the range of appliances, Gaggenau have a showroom in London where you can visit and also make an appointment to see a cooking demonstration. You can contact via the website or call 08701 254 500.
The price of the appliances is certainly above average and not affordable to everyone. For example the approximate price of a 60cm single oven is £2500 (this is only a guide price. You will have to contact your local kitchen retailer to find out the exact price depending on the size and model). So comparing to other brands like Neff, AEG and Bosch, it is definitely much more. My best way to describe the price and quality of Gaggenau is to compare it to cars. It is the 'Rolls Royce' of the appliance world hence the quality and price.
I hope my review gives you a taster into the range of Gaggenau. As mentioned before, I have been selling Gaggenau appliances for over 4years now and I have used the appliances personally although I dream of the day I design my own kitchen and own the Gaggenau appliances.
Thank you for reading
