It heats up quickly, and the "frother" is brilliant - if a bit noisy! The powerful pump makes for great coffee. There are two spouts, so in theory you should be able to make 2 espressos at the same time. However, I have found that is not as easy as it sounds! If you don't hold the cup directly under the spout it does sometimes spray around a bit!
The big disadvantage of this machine is that when making cappucino, you need to empty the coffee chamber for each cup you make. This can be a bit laborious - and messy.
In 2 years I have had one problem with it - my machine was about 3 months old when one of the buttons broke. Gaggia were extremely professional in collecting the machine, repairing it and getting it back to me very quickly.
I would recommend the Baby Gaggia - it's not cheap, but with espresso machines, I really think you get what you pay for.
Advantages: Makes excellent espresso, cappuccino and latte coffee Disadvantages: Needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly
I've never been particularly keen on drinking coffee at work - the options usually consisting of either a mug of the instant variety made with water boiled in a disgustingly furred-up kettle, or a paper cup of brown-coloured hot liquid dispensed by a temperamental vending machine - so it was with some relief when I began a new job last year to learn that there was an espresso machine at my disposal, with which to make a cup of 'real' coffee whenever I wanted one. I wouldn't term myself a coffee snob by any means, but I'm a firm believer that there's no competition between the genuine article and its powdered or granular equivalent, despite what the Kenco lady in the television commercials would have us believe.
NAMING THE BABY
Our machine, the quaintly-named Baby Dose, is made by the Italian company Gaggia, one of the world ...
Advantages: I would have appreciated to test the machine Disadvantages: I have been told gaggia often have those leaks issues
I bought a gaggiababy from an italian site during the summer.
This site looks very professional and is pretending to be operating in many countries including UK.
They delivered to me a machine that was not the right color and the pump was leaking , all the water was getting away from the bottom of the machine.
I had to insist a lot to get a coupon and have the machine picked up by this company.
It took several weeks . Then they promissed to deliver to me a new one of the right color. I had once again to wait for one more month and they delivered the same initial machine to me , wrong color AND despite the "riparatto" mention written manually on the box , non working . I was fuming and asked for them to pick it back and give me a refund, they never answered . So I am now with a non working machine and they kept my money. AVOID THIS ...

Advantages: Small, neat, pretty, produces good coffee Disadvantages: Poor quality control, impractical, unreliable, poor service
Returned - manufacturing fault (penarello swivel joint not secured to body) and cracked water container. Amazon out of stock, unable to replace, refunded.
Repurchased 10.1.08 from www.coffeeitalia.co.uk. Delivered 2.2.08.
Steam function fault developed September.
At the request of coffeeitalia owner, Magnoler Sandro, delivered to Gaggia UK 10.10.08 with cheque for £25 as requested by Gaggia UK with promise of a refund from Mr. Sandro.
Returned 20.11.08. Mr. Sandro then refused to refund, unable to find my order despite me providing his Invoice No.
Although making a great coffee, it is a pain to use.
With hindsight, for the same price or less, I'd buy a "beans in one end", "coffee out the other" machine and unlikely a Gaggia. ...
