Advantages: Large water tank, Speedy, Compact, Easy to customise and use Disadvantages: Body finish could be better for the price; Brew unit (plastic) is not very sturdy
...After owning a Krups Crematic combi machine for 5 years, I wanted to own something a step up, although there was nothing really wrong with the Krups and it served me well on a daily basis.
Although the new GaggiaTitanium has been out for at least a few months there don't seem to be any reviews of it yet, so I hope this is of help. I was in 2 minds whether to plump for this model or the slightly cheaper Gaggia Synchrony Digital Compact. The main reason the Titanium won was because the water tank was double the size of the Compact, the look was better, and the features were improved. One of the other differences between these two models is the Titanium has an "active" cup-warmer whereas the Compact has a "passive" cup-warmer. Active means it has it's own heater, not just the heat from the machine.
So - on with the review. Set-up was...

Advantages: Flashy looking Disadvantages: Twice the price of the same models
...This is the same EXACTLY as any other Gaggia Synchrony/ compact. The machine is made by Saeco which is badged as Prima/Gaggia and Saeco. Prices for the same machines run at 230 pounds to over 800. The only difference being the buttons, it does nothing different to Synchrony compact (Costing a couple of hundred pounds) I bought this to replace a synchrony Compact but returned it when I rumbled their ploy! They do make good coffee, better than the Siemens range (Which i tried) and my god it pushes 'nespresso' into a corner by the throat and beats it to a pulp!. Coffee very good, controls gimmicky and you pay for this. It is a basic Synchrony with strap ons!!...

Advantages: Looks good. Easy to use. Great coffee Disadvantages: failed 4 times in 3 years. Poor customer service from Gaggia
...I've had my GaggiaTitanium for 3 years now and the coffee produced is great.
However in that 3 years it has been out or action/with Gaggia/awaiting Gaggia for about a year.
Six weeks in it started leaking from the bottom of the machine (instead of dispensing coffee). It took about 3 months to get Gaggia to collect it (charge me £50) and return it. The carriage fee was refunded by the supplier of the machine
in 2007 it sprung more leaks, constant dripping from the steam spout. This time they repaired it a lot faster (no charge), but it was over Christmas when you have lots of entertaining and no coffee machine!!!
August 2008 it stopped pumping steam through (similar to other review on Ciao), it took from August to early December to get through to Gaggia UK, then for them to try and talk me through ventilating the machine, then to send...
