Popular radio station Galaxy 102 FM (Manchester) has to be one of my favourite stations I listen to...
Why?
The reason this is my favourite station is mostly because of the music they play. Now, If you're a big fan of Dance and R'n'B then you will love this station.
I would say that the age range for most people who listen to Galaxy would be from about 14 - 25. I know that if I asked my friends which stations they favoured they would most likely say Galaxy than any other station.
Another thing Iabout this station I enjoy is that you get the chance to hear to the newest tunes FIRST before anyone else. With me, I am usually listening to Galaxy and I'll be surfing the net or playing a game and I will hear a new tune but I wont realise how much I really like it until it next comes on.
The convenience of listening on the net is that when you're listening to a tune and you're not sure what it's called, you can just type the lyrics in a search engine and you will find it easy, I do this myself sometimes.
I think the reason the station is so popular is because of the amount of teenagers that listen to it and LET GALAXY KNOW what their favourite songs are.
My favourite bits must be when Dave Kelly is being rude to people on the phone, especially when they're rude back to him.

*Saturday* - *9:00PM - 11:00PM* Steve Sutherland - Galaxy Presents...double MOBO Award winner 2000/2002 Steve Sutherland, with the 'Best R&B and hip-hop'. You better believe it!
*Monday to Friday* - *7:00PM - 11:00PM* I mostly listen to Dave Kelly's slots. Manchester's No.1 for Dance & R'n'B.
There are tons of competitions you're able to enter, some of which you have to be over 18 and some over 16. I remember the competition "What's that noise?", I have to say it was the best competition ever and it was so simple, you just had to guess the noise of a certain object. There are many more competitions, especially if you check their website. Although you would need to become a member if you wanted to enter.
Their website looks great also. You can sign up to have a say in what music they play.
I must be honest, Galaxy can be a pain sometimes... This is usually if they keep playing a song that most people like and I don't. Another reason is because when you listen live on the net at busy times, it tends to skip and keep skipping for ages. If I listen on my radio upstairs it wont skip but it's really hard to get the dial in the right place so it sounds clear.
I'm actually listening to Galaxy right now and if you're not already, I do suggest you listen to it. :)
