Galt Activity Cube
This was one of the first toys I bought for Jack when he was really too small to play with it. The fact was it was cheap but looked good. Since he has had it a while I thought it about time I did a review of it also I liked the toy so much I bought two for Christmas, one each for one of my friends babies.
I bought the activity cube from Amazon for £5.99 pence and of course had to pay a small fee for post and packaging. I have not seen this particular activity cube for sale anywhere else although these are so many products that are similar out on the market.
The cube arrived with a few days and on opening the posting box it came in the cube was held in a handled plastic container. Although this kept it nice and snug it was really of no use so this was thrown away. Of course just like any cube this one has six different faces each with something different one. I will go through each side individually and talk about what each face has to offer.
The first side has a picture of a cow on it. It is drawn in a cartoon way with a splodge of yellow hair and yellow hoofs. It is covered in blue splats and the main colour is white. There is a large pink nose that comes off of the body and if you press the right part it makes a Moo sound. The background is coloured in bright green with purple pieces of grass. It is not your average run of the mill cow but it does look like a cow none the less.
The next face of the cube has a cartoon drawing of a yellow duck on it. The duck has a large drawn on orange bill and two blue feet. It is on a red back ground with little purple chick like animals all around it. There is a large green wing with white spots that can be lifted up and inside this wing it a sort of plastic that makes a nice crunching sound.
Turning the cube again to show the next face you see a purple background with a drawing of a girl in a red jumper and hat she is holding onto a piece of ribbon which comes away from the cube and attached to this is a fabric picture of a dog where inside is again some noisy plastic that when touched makes a scrunching sound. The dog can be placed at the little girls feet where there is a piece of green felt where the dog can be slotted in.
A sheep with a large fluffy white coat is the main character of the next side and again it is drawn in a cartoon like manner with a large blue face and blue feet. The fluffy white coat sticks out from the cube feels very soft. The sheep is on a bright yellow background with pretty red flowers all around it.
Turning the cube in a different direction you get to see a large flower who takes up all the space of the next side of the cube and this flower has a bright yellow smiley face with five different coloured petals, red, purple, blue, green and pink. All these petal are made of fabric but inside is again the crunchy plastic that makes a lovely scrunching sound. There are small yellow and blue bumblebees scattered in the background.
The final side of the activity cube is a mirror encased in a yellow fabric with the crunchy plastic all around. The mirror is not that clear because it is that mirror paper that makes everything looks a little out of proportion. But you are still able to see your reflection well and this can be cleaned easily.
Jacks favourite is the dog and the little girl side as he can grip on to the dog and swinging the cube round and round. He likes all the crunchy plastic material, as he loves listening to that sound.
All in all I think this is a really good toy and for the price I think it is a total bargain. Jack seems to be far more interested in the basic toys such as this one than the more expensive ones that we have bought him. He plays with this cube mostly everyday and enjoys doing so.
The fact that the cube is soft and easy to play with makes it lovely and safe to leave him with it. It can be easily wiped clean and there is so much to touch, to learn and to look at.
I would highly recommend this activity cube to everyone as Jack seems to get a lot of enjoyment from it and at this price how could you not want to buy it.
I hope this has been of some help. Thanks for taking the time to read. xxxx
