Wires are no more - wireless is the future!
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller - game pad by
shamis4
Advantages: Superb controller with no wires and loads of features and very good feel
Disadvantages: None- except a bit more expensive than wired controller
This the wireless controller for all xbox 360 consoles regardless of whether they are the arcade console or the newest elite console. This controller will work on all the consoles. The controller itself is just as important as the console as without the console you are kind of stuck and can't do much. This controller is also wireless!
Wireless:
I remember when i had my PS2 and PS1 and had all those wires dragged across the room and getting all ... ...complain about them being left everywhere and wire becoming a hazard. Now that is no longer a problem with the new xbox controllers coming completely wireless. I can now sit where I want in my room and not have to worry about the wire getting caught or stretching across to my desk with the controller in my hand and suddenly being jerked back by those annoying wires. The wireless system involves 2.4Ghz technology (not too sure what that means but ...

Fantastic 360/PC Pad!
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows - game pad by
hackersupr
Advantages: Great layout, comfortable and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Confusing marketing, crappy D-pad. (wires)
...download the drivers off the Microsoft site and you can use it in many games, most Games For Windows support this controller straight away even changing the button names in the game so for example it will say "press A to continue" instead of "press enter".
Issues
The controller does look slightly worse than the wireless pad, the grey band on the bottom of the controller is a shiny silver on the wireless variation and the analogue sticks feel like ... ...buttons is good apart from the D-pad which is dreadful and unresponsive often failing to recognize diagonal presses. This issue remains on all variations of the 360 controller. The pad is also marketed in two ways which is confusing and unnecessary, firstly as the Xbox 360 Wired Controller and as the Common Controller. There is no difference apart from the packaging so I fail to understand why they did this. It is also wired so if your always getting ...

Good controller for new games for windows
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows - game pad by
smivs953
Advantages: makes you feel like you are playing a console game
Disadvantages: no drivers for wireless version as yet.
...but there is a downside. Microsoft have not as yet created a driver that enables you to use this controller to it's full functionality on older games such as gta san andreas. That said though i feel it was well worth the money and the connection to the pc is superb using bluetooth and a usb reciever. There is the added bonus that comes with this controller and that is the fact that it can be used on a xbox 360 aswell. This is because the controller ... ...the one inside the xbox 360 console.
Overall feel of buttons: All the buttons on the controller are very well situated for any gamer. The joysticks have a very smooth feel to them and that makes the gameplay feel more real. So far i have had no problems at all of buttons sticking or joysticks starting to lack the original smoothness but in time i will post an update if that changes.
Conclusion: If anyone is thinking of buying this then i would ...

Don't hold it, shape your hands around it !
Review of Microsoft Xbox Controller S - game pad by
ps2gamer890
Advantages: Strong, well built, reliable, better than first Xbox controller, built in gadget to separate it from console in a slip-up.
Disadvantages: Too big for average hand size, heavy, impractical for RPG's
If the gamecube's controller is a anorexic, purple oddity, then this is the king size man one! While hugely smaller than the awful first gen controller which was the size-of-a-baby's-head and looked like a big black whale, the Controller S still suffers from a slight weight problem. The main problem is that it is rather flawed. The sixties/seventies style, seemingly unergonomic PS1 controller was so good, way better than it should of been. Buttons ... ...were where they should of been. It was such a good design they used it, as old fashioned as it was, for the next generation. The controller S, however, is bigger than it has too be. Did anyone ever complain that the PS controller was too big / small,
no, because it fitted everyone. I did get used to it eventually, and to really like it, but not enough thought has been put into it.
What about small hands? are the two triggers very good for anything ...

Halo 3 fans - a must buy!
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo 3 Wireless Controller Spartan - game pad by
shamis4
Advantages: Great design - a cool looking controller
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
This limited edition Halo 3 controller has two different version available - the first being this spartan one (which i own) or there is also a covenant one available.
THis is very much similar to a normal wireless controller with all the same buttons and triggers, except that it has a much smoother surface. However the main difference is that it has some very cool artwork on it, made by Todd McFarlane. This shows images of master chief standing ... ...the other side. The art is of very high quality and will not come off - i have owned mine for six months and it is still in very good condition. The back of the controller is just black and this is quite unique from the standard white controller.
Another advantage of buying this controller is that you get a cool little figurine of master chief aiming a machine gun. This looks quite nice to stick on top of your television.
This controller costs ...
