Wanna catch em all
Advantages: Can be an enjoyable hobby, MAY increase in value Disadvantages: A big drain on the budget, Can cause vast arguments between parent and sibling, MAY become worthless bits of paper

Half of these people have never even owned the cards and certainly never ... ...prizes. The only difference between Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering is that the latter are aimed at adults. A Company called Wizards of the Coast makes the cards. This company is one of the best-respected companies that make collectable cards and figurines. They also make the cards and figurines for the huge Dungeons and Dragons ...

Magic: The Gathering - A Parallel World
Advantages: Estimulates imagination and mathematical abilities Disadvantages: Cards are made of slightly durable paper
Magic: The Gathering (colloquially "Magic") is a collectible card game created by mathematics professor Richard Garfield in 1993 and is published by Wizards of the Coast. Magic has an estimated six million players in over 70 countries. Magic is, in my opinion, the best card game ever. Magic is not only a game, is an art galley, a complex mathematic challenge and more. Garfield created a simple and complex game, simultaneously. Magic estimulates the ... ...of magic, also. This novels intruduce the children to a parallel world of fantastic creatures and hidden secrets and powers. Phrases and excerpts of the books are present in the cards, drowning children into the "magic" of this world. Magic is highly recommended, not only for children, but also to all the ones who loves ffantastic ficction and games who needs advanced strategies and quick thinking. ...

No hubble bubble toil or trouble here - only fun!
Advantages: A great fun way to practice sums Disadvantages: If you are all good at sums the first person to play will be the one that wins
The Orchard Toy range provides high quality board games and jigsaw puzzles whilst also being educational in very subtle ways. The price ranges from £3 tp £13, this game retails for £11 directly from Orchard Toys but from websites such as Amazon it is under £10.
The Orchard Toys Magic Cauldron game is for 2 to 4 players age five and over. Each player has a cauldron (board) with 10 places on the board. There are two types of cards, one has a picture ... ...the spell ingredients and are piled up picture side up. The other type of cards have a sum on one side and a ghost on the other and are spread out sum side up. The youngest player starts by taking an ingredient card, looking at the number, they then find a card with the sum which makes that number, to check the answer they rub the ghost on the rear, a number appears, if they are correct then the ingredient is placed on the cauldron. If they are wrong ...

As easy as ELC!
Advantages: Well made, durable, entertaining and educational Disadvantages: Our pieces started to stick slightly but this was easily resolved
...sells for around £6-£7 from Early Learning Centre and other ELC stockists (Boots, Mothercare etc.) This might seem expensive for a simple wooden puzzle but works out good value considering how well made it is and the fun/educational value it involves. I'd recommend this for toddlers around the one year old mark this Christmas as I'm sure they will have many months of pleasure out of it. ...
