Green fingers or not, a magazine worth reading
Advantages: Packed full of information and helpful advice; suitable for amateurs and professionals Disadvantages: Price - although each issue contains over 150 pages
I had seen Gardeners' World in newsagents many times, but always glanced past it thinking it would be nothing more than information about how to grow potatoes, mending wheelbarrow wheels, and Latin names galore. But no. What you find is an extensive, colourful, and informative collection of just about everything – enough to spur anyone to get stuck into his or her garden and mingling amongst the cornflowers.
I recently received a free copy through ... ...each issue make the magazine more of a book, with something for everyone. At £3.20, it is a little pricey, but most magazines are similarly priced nowadays. It is possible to get it cheaper by subscribing – currently by direct debit; this will cost £27.90 for 12 of the monthly-published issues (approximately £2.33 per issue). Subscribing is advantageous, giving you exclusive discounts, competitions, and a subscriber privilege card (gives you 10% ...

Garden mag for this amateur
Advantages: good articles Disadvantages: ?
Amateur gardening
Lets have a look at the Amateur gardening magazine I have.
I do not buy this religiously every week. Occasionally if I feel like reading a gardening magazine I might just buy this one. This magazine costs £1.50 a week. Which I think a good price. It often has a freebie with it a packet of seeds or something similar
This magazine has about 60 pages in it. So what’s on these pages? I have a may copy here in front of me? There ... ...There are lots of colour pictures of flowers and gardens.
Articles written by TV garden stars Peter Seabrook, Anne Swithin bank, Charlie Dimmock (wish she would wear a dry t shirt she will get an awful cold wearing wet t shirts all the time :-), Bob Flowerdew, (he grows things in a way I like) Chris Beardshaw (now there’s a nice young man). Monty Don, who in the September issue ponders about digging and the modern trend for non dig gardens.

Outdoors Magazine
Advantages: free Disadvantages: none, its fabulous
I really do like gardening and just had to read this magazine which was kindly given to me free by my friend who had finished using it. In this latest edition the magazine deals with how to keep your garden ticking over in the winter months and deals exclusively on leaf clearance and how you can create leaf mould for nothing using a cheap compost bin! It really is an informative little magazine with around 27 pages of horticultural interest spanning ...

WHERE’S THE BLOOMIN’ INFORMATION?
Advantages: Lots of handy tips and published on a weekly basis Disadvantages: Not always as informative as it should be
...sort of gardening literature.
Garden News is published weekly and is available to buy on a Wednesday. If, like me, you choose to subscribe, you’ll receive it a day before it hits the shops although I‘m not sure that has any real advantage. For me, subscribing simply means that I’ll receive it every week without having to dash to the shop on publication day because in our town, leaving it one day later would usually mean it’s sold out. You wouldn’t ... ...of Crewe in search of Garden News for me. I believe it was after one such fruitless journey that he suggested I take out a subscription.
Published by emap, this isn’t a magazine as such, more a gardening newspaper that generally consists of about 50 pages at a cost of 1.30 per issue.
It’s easy reading and although probably not of much interest to the professional gardener, I’m sure even those with a good few years behind them spent picking up gardening ...

Love The Kitchen Gardener
Advantages: Useful Seasonal advice for the Vegetable gardener of any skill level Disadvantages: I honestly can't think of any
I buy the Kitchen Gardener magazine on a monthly basis. I think it is one of the most useful reference materials you can find on vegetable gardening.
It has step by step plans for planting and renovation projects around your garden, I especially like it as there is a whole section on Allotments. As I have an allotment I find this part very helpful, it is obviously written by an experienced allotment holder.
I think that whatever experience you ... ...for you. You don't have to be a gardening expert to understand it but it also has enough useful tips to keep the experienced vegetable grower coming back for more. I would recommend buying this publication even if you just grow a few tomatoes in pots it will inspire you. ...
