Collins Tree Guide (Paperback) Advantages: Accurate Descriptions and Illustrations Disadvantages: Small text ...and Europe What is it? Collins Tree Guide is a book that describes over 1500 trees. This is the largest single-volume ever included in a field guide. The book has a black cover with white and gold text with a solitary tree illustrated in the centre of the cover. The book is stunning and feels like a prized possession in your hand. The cover is very well designed but we all know the saying, never judge a book by the cover! Inside the book ... ...I have never found a Collins Guide that has poor illustrations and this book is no exception. The Illustrations are very accurate and every species is portrayed in fine detail. Seasonal changes are considered along with flowers and fruit. (N.B. in botanical terms fruit refers to the seed). Summary I think it fair to say that this is a very comprehensive guide to the trees of Britain and Ireland. Very useful tips ... Advantages: you put all your waste to use and grow a healthy garden Disadvantages: none that i can think of... ...garden waste is the best compost for the plants.....personally i use up all kitchen wastes, vegetable peel, fruit peel,dry leaves to make compost...I layer them with soil and leave the whole thing to nicely turn into compost over a period of time, normally 2-3 months, all i do is sprinkle some water regularly over it...there are very useful tips given in the book to go organic and grow a healthy garden...i love the cover of the book...and the claim ... ...waste can be turned into compost including used tea leaves, fish bones and any other waste like rotten food etc;It need to be layered with soil and some wood chip or wood waste, dry leaves found in your garden ... i think a book worth reading by all garden lovers ... kiran8 26.07.2008 · Read full review Ciao members have rated this review on average: helpful Review of Compost - Ken Thompson	Quality of photos Quality of text Useful
Grow Your own Drugs - Never Judge a Book By Its Cover! Advantages: Good Photography, Accurate information, Concise, fun Disadvantages: Overpriced ...appalled to find James Wong's Grow Your own Drugs book standing center piece on my dining table. "What the"??!! Seathing I grabbed the offensive hardback and marched into the kitchen where my partner stood with a smug look on his face. After a good grilling he burst out laughing. Speechless and confused I looked again at the cover that also told me (in my defence, in smaller writing) Easy Recipes for Natural Remedies and Beauty Fixes. "Oh"! With ... ...is a little overpriced, however WHSmith currently have £5 OFF and so at £11.99 I felt that it was a reasonable buy. The book is to accompany a series that appeared on BBC, but I did not see this, so cannot comment. As I mentioned the book is hardback by Collins. The photographs are proffessional, detailed and enticing. By this I mean that they draw you in, make you want to feel, taste, make and use the recipes. Chelsea Flower Fabulous! Advantages: lots of ideas Disadvantages: quite expensive I have to say this week I have really enjoyed watching the Chelsea Flower Show. It has been on for an hour every night with one and a half hours on Friday. There is now a book to accompany the show telling you everything about the event. The Chelsea Flower Show is a yearly event hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society - It is by far the most prestigious flower show of the year. You can get tickets from the Royal Horticultural Society website but ... ...youre a member of the RHS) The show starts on a Monday but the public arn't allowed in until Wednesday (after the prizes are awarded on Tuesday). The prizes go in order as follows... Gold Silver Gilt Silver Bronze. Of course everyone is aiming for the gold but very few are given out, especially for the show gardens. How to Be the Perfect Housewfe-A Book For the Modern Girl Advantages: Very inspirational, clear and easy to understand Disadvantages: Shame it's only in paperback,needs photos not just drawings ...with absolutely no knowledge of how to keep house which is how I was. If you feel overwhelmed and you don't know where to even begin, then this book is for you. It is also for you if you have the house fairly under control, but just need some new ideas to inspire you.
