Advantages: Great sound from a small compact unit Disadvantages: No battery capability
...I recently received this radio as a prize from a survey i participated in. As i received it free im not sure about the price but belive it to be worth around the £90 mark if purchased through amazon, but you may be able to obtain it cheaper if you shop around.
The model i have is the cherry wood finish. It is a small compact unit with a good weight to it due to the wood case. Its dimensions are 21cm wide, 15cm tall excluding the handle and 11cm deep incuding the tuning buttons. With the aerial fully extended it is 80cm from the bottom of the base to the top of the aerial. Starting up the unit for the first time, a cold start, it takes around four minutes to locate satellites and report your position on screen. A warm start takes less time up to a minute, but this does require the unit having batteries in it whilst it has been shutdown and having not removed the memory card. My car has a heated windscreen which can often cause issues with GPS devices, so Garmin have also provided a socket for connecting an external aerial, but in practice I have never had a problem with satellite reception.
The screen on the unit is a good size and can be seen well during daylight often a problem with LCD screens. As the unit knows where you are it knows when sunset and sunrise are so it automatically changes the screen between daylight and night modes. The screen...

Overview

I bought this extender to go with my Canon EF 70-200 f4.0L IS lens. It extends the range to 280mm and increases the maximum aperture to 5.6. This means that autofocus on a 20D, 30D, 40D or 5D body will still function... more
