The Garmin Dakota 20 is a fantastic little product which is easy to use and very helpful indeed! It is very reliable and could technically save lives...But then again, and i apologize i can't help but critisize this product...sorry...bullet-point-rant coming up:
* Its technology based navigation...one mistake with the signals or battery life and you could be stranded!
* A good old paper map won't run out of battery or smash the screen!
* Very Expensive!
* Looks, quite bluntly, like a brick. It isn't nice to gaze upon whilst navigating , but i suppose you don't buy it to admire it, it does its job!
Impressive features included the wireless feature meaning i could send waypoints and markers to my friends if we decided to venture off different ways.
The battery hasn't run out when I've used it (touch-wood) but the fear that it might...was quite daunting. If you aren't too far away from life then it's fine, but if you are out in the rugged uplands , - like we were and it runs out, you could find yourself lost...and fast.
Okay the rant didn't last too long, because quite frankly - it did its job, and was easy to use!
Short Review, sorry...
Decent product if you can blow £200 on a universal map..
Hope I've helped!

I've an earlier model Garmin that I've hardly ever used - but it did save my son from getting lost in the Gobi desert.

I'm sorry for the low rate but there is nothing in your review to show your personal experience of the product. How long does the battery last, for example? How heavy is it? Have you used it extensively and can confirm its reliability or otherwise? Let me know if you add to your review and I will be happy to re-rate.
