I bought the 205 second hand due to the steep price when it's new. I think I've been quite lucky and it's been hardly used by the previous owner. Battery seems to last well over 7 - 8 hours between charges. The sattelite reception is good but sometimes takes a few minutes when finding reception. It's been a great motivation having it on the bike. It's great to have a mount on the commuting bike and one on the weekend bike. The map on the trainig centre software is poor, but you can download the sport tracks software free and that ties in with google maps. Haven't even tries all the feature yet (such as the virtual training partner). Had a problem first that it stopped recording a lap when I stopped and it should have gone into auto pause mode and then continue to record, but after updating the software from the garmin site it's been all working well.

Since people suggested that the review is a bit short for their liking I thought I add some more useful information. Yes, I tried to keep it short because quite a few reviews I read on ciao just ramble on and put me to sleep. Anyway, I had the garmin a bit longer now and can judge better on the useful features, I think. To upload courses from online (free!!) services such as course creator is absolutely brilliant. You can have your own sat nav on the bike. Whereas the map feature itself is pretty bad (you only see your own track but no other features), the uploaded course definitely directs you into the right direction. It shsows the direction to take at every stored waypoint and gives you an overview of the part of the route you are on and where in relation to the route you are. I went from Glasgow to Edinburgh (city centre, and I don't know Edinburgh) following my route without any hitches. Brilliant.

The virtual training partner is good fun and to create workouts by time/distance etc. is good if you are doing intervals and the like. The only thing I actually regret is not having bought the 305 with HRM instead. Of course you can wear a seperate one, which I do, but it would be great to have as the software integrates this into the graphs.
