Operating the unit is easy. One slide switch on top to start it up. This can also be locked. It has a full post code entry. If you dont have a house number to enter after the post code then it will take you to the centre of the postcode you have just entered. Also you can search just for city. Also you can just use the map function if you want to find your own way. There are plenty of extras in it such as "Favourites" and searching for entertainment, resteraunts, museams and things like that. There is a handy trip meter which also tells you the speed. Speed camara and speed check areas come up as a red band with a verbal warning. On screen graphics are good and can be + or - to your liking. Sound is good. Bright enough 4 daylight. No house charger with it though just car charger. You can also set it to be used as a pedestrian unit, so walking around and using it is ok as long as you have a fully charged battery. The life of which really only gave me about hour and a half. To use in the car a little disc the size of the windscreen sucker is also given so that can stick to your dashboard then the sucker for the holder can fasten to that so no tell tale signs on the window that you have a devise somewhere in the car. There are better sat navs out there but its what you pay for really. I paid £139:99p and think that you can get more for your money with other units.
The recent satelite crash (between russian and another?) is a bit worrying, as it does rather bring down the fact that we are increasingly dependant on those little bits of junk we have put up above the atmosphere to circle the earth
. . . thanks for sharing . . . I have a Garmin StreetPilot i3 . . . and I get between 5-7 hours battery use from her as pedestrian (partly dependant on weather conditions) . . . but it is easier because I bought an external aerial to aid in satelite location and fix
