Good Guide to Dog Friendly Pubs, Hotels and B&Bs

Advantages: Easy to use, good quality information
Disadvantages: Rapidly goes out of date, some areas under represented

We bought this book after getting another, similar book from crufts free a few years ago. (The AA Guide) This book is just as good as the previous one and I have found it ideal for nights away and lunch on a summer sunday. We have tried several of the places and so far they have all served decent food. We tried one of the B&Bs but without the dog, so can not comment on how good their dog accomodation was! I did find that some parts of the country were less well represented than others. (Herefordshire in particluar doesn't have many listings). One of my relatives also uses this book and whilst on holiday she went to one of the recommended pubs, only to find it had changed ownership and now does not accept dogs. Not a major problem but a bit of a nuisance. Since then we have always phoned ahead just in case! ...

Good Pub Restaurants unless you go to this branch

Advantages: Good selection, meal deal, good service
Disadvantages: This Branch needs a kick up the backside.

Three Blackbirds Inn My husband and I decided to take the children out to lunch this Sunday as a treat and we decided to go to The Three Blackbirds Inn near us in Cwmbran for a nice relaxing change. Located in Lantarnam in Cwmbran it is set in a lovely quiet location, which is easily accessible from the main road yet quiet and secluded. The Company. ------------------------------------- The restaurant I have chosen to review is located in Llantarnam, Cwmbran in South Wales and is part of the Good Pub Restaurants group. This group offers Pub restaurants across the country with a standard menu that is family orientated. They are usually found in conjunction with the Wacky Warehouse play area which the children can go in an play as well, although they have now branched out to include the following chin link restaurants:- Fine ...

Capital Pub guide!

Advantages: Compact, well written and informative.
Disadvantages: Absolutely none at all!

Following on from reviewing the Peak District Pub Walks book I decided to dip into one of his other books again. This one uses the city as its base and gives beer fans a guide to walking around the nation's capital. London Pub Walks is produced by CAMRA (CAMpaign for Real Ale) and can be purchased via the CAMRA website (www.camra.org.uk) or from bookshops (either online or on the high street). Written by Bob Steel, beer enthusiast and author, London Pub Walks is a pocket-sized guide to some of the nicest and historic pubs in London. The book covers the whole of the city and allows you to tour sections of the city, while always being within easy reach of a decent pint of Real Ale. It includes 30 walks around over 180 pubs. The walks are easy and include all the necessary information you need to enjoy your visit, including which ...
