Well, what can I say, for between £100 and £120 I think my eTrex is absolutely fantastic. Its the bottom of the range, hence the low price for such a feature packed GPS but it does allow you to use many different navigational functions for all sorts of out door type users. Enormous benefits to this obviously include its lightweight, ruggedness, good screen size, easy controls and the fact that it is pretty much waterproof. The unit is powered with a pair of AA batteries which it manages to eat through in a few hours but I'm now using high powered rechargeable units which make life much easier. In addition to the outdoors uses you can also download and upload trip data to PC or laptop via a cable which enables you to plan and review trips from all different perspectives. In addition to the outdoor uses, when plugged into a laptop with appropriate software this unit can also act as a sensor to work as a type of sat nav in the car.
Overall, I would highly recommend this item although if you’re after a really feature packed unit it may be worth looking at the slightly mre expensive models within the eTrex range.
Personally, I think this is quite a good review so if you disagree, please comment why...
