The Garmin Nuvi 250w is rather a nice compact little wide screen sat nav. We received ours second hand from my dad when he upgraded, and since we got it, we've used it a fair few times to help us get to and from places. We find the thing a bit of a nag sometimes, even when she's being helpful, so...

“Get lost”

ProHelps you find your way (unless you are me)

ConsThe voice can get annoying

I've had one of these Garmin Nuvi sat navs for quite a few years now. It doesn't get used too much but has been used enough over the years for me to get really fed of of the ladies voice that gives the instructions. These can be picked up for about £20 second hand these days as technology is...

“Garmin Gremlin is back!”

Consa little quiet

Satanic Navigation systems have become a common everyday item for many people who drive on a regular basis, but as with anything else technological there are hundreds on the market and a bewildering array of options to choose from. Luckily for me I bypassed this confusion by winning a satnav in a...

Edit: My review here is based on the Nuvi-250 (non-widescreen version). I bought one of these recently as my old ipaq-based TomTom is getting more outdated each day and there doesn't seem to be a reasonably-priced way to update it. I have to say I was expecting better. The manual is small because...

ProSo simple to use.

ConsEasy target for thieves.

... Garmin was one of the GPS devices I looked at when deciding which sat nav to go for. I actually went for the TomTom. As I compared several models I feel I am qualified to write a review on this Sat Nav. Garmin is well known for Satnav, but they also make Mobile phones, Laptops, PDAs, 2 way...

I spent months chewing over my first GPS so I could do bicycle tours, I am a long range chap (5-80 miles) that does not care about calorie burn or heartbeat. I wanted at least full UK coverage of country lanes, with Full European maps it was a bonus. At the time it cost me £89! I turned down...

I have been after a Sat Nav with built in European Maops for some time now as I am planning a road trip around Europe later in the year for my honeymoon. My first instinct was to go for a Tomtom as currently it is the most well known Sat Nav on the market and everyone you ask seems to...

Excellent

The Garmin nuvi 250 is very easy to use and comes with many other functions including a JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. It also has space for an SD memory card, either your own with pictures or with a Garmin Travel Guide that includes more attractions. It comes loaded with maps of Europe and includes many points of interest. It has a very slimline design and comes ready to use straight out the box. A very worthwhile purchase.

Why oh why can't Garmin and Tomtom make a decent sat nav for the business traveller. If you did 1000's of miles each month you would find this system absolutely frustrating. Worst than the Tomtom GO 910 and ONE xl. what is the point of having so many features crammed into the unit and failing at the most important aspect of a sat nav?!! to get you to your destination. So far the best system has been the Grundig nav 100, surprise surprise it is made by the Germans. A no nonsense sat nav which is accurate 100% of the time (so far anyway)... no gismos, no useless features, just a fantastic sat nav.

Well, At first my father buy this Garmin NÜVI 250 W from USA, and i just thought it just another wasting money junk. Well I know that Garmin is well known for its Satellite Navigation system and it do show it a big company by sponsoring the FULHAM FC. I at first not really believe that it can...

I got this sat nav over a year ago, i bought it at £100 and it was definitely worth the value considering the amount of use it gets! When I first installed this sat nav, I needed the manual, and I'm the sort of person that doesn't need a manual to install anything. The things that got me with...

The Nuvi is a useless as Garmins service. I only used it 5 times and gave up on me twice for 2 completely different reasons. The service I received from Garmin matched that.
