Removing make up is a daily routine for me I am one of those people who wears make up generally every day and I have done since I was probably around 13 so quite a few years (sigh!). I am well aware of looking after my skin I want to grow old gracefully and for me the more I help look after my skin right from the off then hopefully my skin will look a lot healthier and brighter as I age. I tend to cleanse, tone and moisturise at night and then in the morning I simply wash my face and use a facial wipe. I have limited time in the morning so I find the simple task of just washing and using a wipe is suitable for me.
I can have sensitive skin on my face and sometimes if I don’t use the correct moisturiser for the time of year my skin can dry out which is slightly annoying. Therefore, the products I use on my face tend to be for dry or sensitive skin as I try to prevent the drying out of my skin as much as possible as although most perfumed products are absolutely fine I do try and use products suited for sensitive skin. My current wipes of choice are the Garnier Soft Essentials Vitamin Enriched Cleansing Wipes. I have used the moisturising cream from Garnier Soft Essentials range and I was incredibly pleased with it so I didn’t hesitate in buying the wipes. The Garnier Soft Essentials range is made to “soothe, soften and nourish through moisture” so all of their products within that range apart from being incredibly gentle are ideal for sensitive and dry skin.
The wipes are made typically for easiness of removing make up and offer an alternative to cotton wool. The wipes come in a handy sized pack of 25 wipes, the pack itself is pink in colour and is made from some sort of plastic material with a re-sealable tab. The product name is on the front together with the Garnier logo and of course what type of skin it is suitable for. There is a pink hue of petals on the front – all the Soft Essentials range have white and pink packaging to set them apart from the other Garnier Ranges. On the back of the pack there is all the usual information about the wipes such as how to use them, what they are made of and how they can help you skin. The pack does seem quite vacuum packed making it an ideal size to pack away and take on holiday with you which is what I will be doing in August!
The wipes themselves are white in colour and are probably just a bit smaller than an A5 sheet of paper just a bit squarer when unfolded. I have come across some wipes before that once out the packet they are thin and end up leaving their fibres on your eyelashes or can be pulled apart too easily. These wipes however are incredibly soft and almost quilted in their appearance. They are not particularly thick as one would expect but are not too thin either making them ideal to wipe away make up without them stretching or falling apart. They have a very gentle fragrance to them which has very slight floral tones to them which is lovely but being a product suitable for dry and sensitive skin they of course don’t have a strong scent to them which is perfectly fine.
To use the wipes you simply need to take one from the pack (making sure you re-seal it afterwards) and then just wipe across your face gently. Now despite using them generally in the morning when I don’t have any make up on I have used them after a night out and want to take my make up off quickly and these manage to cut through my make up easily. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t layer my make up on at all as I do like the more subtle effect but these wipes manage to clear foundation, blusher, concealer without any problems whatsoever. I have used them to take off eye make up and it does struggle with my mascara but then I find a lot of products such as wipes and even some eye make up removers struggle with my particular mascara so this isn’t a big concern of mine as it manages to remove everything without a problem.
Garnier advise that they help to soothe and nourish skin through moisture with their Soft Essentials range and I have to say that these wipes certainly don’t dry out my skin whatsoever. It does on the other hand help look after and protect my skin but keeping it hydrated which will obviously stop my skin from drying it out. The wipes do have a lovely soft almost silky feel to them and I do believe that this is because of the key nourishing ingredients that Garnier use. I have no complaints about these wipes whatsoever. They manage to do their job without any problems whilst keeping my skin soft and supple. Definitely an item to be considered if your skin can easily get irritated by other wipes which contain alcohol. 5 stars from me.
