Simply apply the Gum to dry or slightly damp hair and style as normal. This is great at holding but it dries mega quick, in about 10 seconds in fact. ... ...it was on I was over the moon! Finally! a product that goes on the hair that doesn't leave a residue. It looked great for once. This stuff really does hold and seems to last ... even in heavy rain! Believe me... have really tested this product and it has passed everyone of my tests... Whether its rollercoaster.. Car window open zooming.. Pouring Rain.. Snow I have tried them all! Hello everyone and welcome to this review.
Hair hair hair...... That's me! Im very fussy about it. My hair has to stick up but I don't want people to think "Oh its sticking up?" if you understand me haha! Basically I want a product that sticks my hair up without people knowing I have put gel on it....... OOoooo I know! A natural sort of look. Thats what I was trying to get accross.
Anyway, after trying so many different gels and mousses I had no success what so ever. Until! I saw this beautiful pot of what ever it was sitting on the shelf in Tesco - It had a buy one get one free ( BOGOF ) Sticker on it. So in the basket it went. I thought it must be worth a try for £2.75 and thats for two pots. Very very cheap.
When I got home I couldn't wait to try this stuff. It is contained in a lovely green pot with a nice yellow lid ( Good marketing tactic used by the company to catch people's eyes in the shops )! But it looks nice anyway.

So styling must be finished quickly so be prepared. When it was on I was over the moon! Finally! a product that goes on the hair that doesn't leave a residue. It looked great for once. How long will the pot last? ***************************** My gosh, absolutely ages. To stick all of my hair right up I use about two blobs the size of a raisin. It really covers perfectly. But be careful not to put too much on because your hair will go like a pile of hay:) But yeah this pot should last me a good year! WOW!! and its so cheap I would quite happily buy a pot a week.
The pot size: 150ML, Quite a good size.
Is it easy to wash out? Absolutely pips! Just a quick 4 second blast with the shower and its gone. No residue at all.
Can I straighten my hair with this on? I have tried! And well yes it seemed fine. But it dragged a little.
Overall if you want wild hair without actually looking like you have purposely made it wild this is the product for you! Try it... You will like it. Even when the product is on my hair it feels very smooth but a bit rubbery, mind you..... Why would you go smoothing your hair after use anyway?? maybe its only me haha
It also smells great! and once it dries there is no scent:) When I tried the Tesco Value gel (12p)!! I smelled like a rabbit cage all day... Not good!

And I liked the consistency in design from the packaging of the Fructis products to the website design. Fresh, fruity and modern. I remember seeing the Fructis TV advertisements, showing a young male surfer or group of teenagers using the Fructis hair products to create spiky looks and long-lasting hold. And of course the well-known slogan of: “Take Care….Garnier” implies ...

I would recommend Garnier Fructis Surf Style Gum to anybody who uses products already, or even someone who doesn't, but is looking for a good place to start. It is easy to use and manage. It is designed more for people with shorter hair, as are most styling products, and this works better, the shorter your hair is. Though it seems more targeted towards younger people, it is perfect for people of all ages who want to do something different ...

They tell you: "Only Garnier Fructis Style products have the unique combination of fixing agents and Fruit Micro-Waxes (from Mango and Apricot), plus fruit extracts (from Lemon, Orange and Kiwi), and Vitamin PP and Pro-Vitamin B5".
To use:
Basically, you scoop out a bit, roughly half a tablespoon full (I suppose it depends on how much hair you have) and work it into damp hair, the packet says apply to dry hair, no way, ... ...Put too much in and you have hair that would inflict damage if you accidentally stabbed someone with it. It has taken me a good few times to work out the optimum amount, though it is pretty much a case of 'less is more'.
The ingredients are:
Aqua (why don't they just say 'water'), Cera Alba/Beeswax, then lots of glyceride thingies and preservatives (stays useable for 12 months after opening) which I haven't listed in full as I have been 'told off' ...
