Review of My Take - Gary Barlow by emmerella

Advantages: Very truthfull
Disadvantages: none

...I found this book great to read mostly because i wanted to find out Garys true feelings on his former bandmate Robbie Williams. Gary is extremely honest about the highs and lows of take that and what happened after the band split He talks about his life before the band when he was first noticed. Gary was the bands front man who wrote the hits ' A million love songs' , 'Pray' and ' Back for good'. He talks about his apprenticeship in the working men's club in the north of England, His ambition and how his life transformed when he met Nigel Martin-Smith. he also talks a bit about his private life of his wife and children This is a compelling reed of a normal young man growing up in the music industry.... The book takes from Gary's early beginnings, from when he got his first musical equipment and started to get gigs in working mens clubs, through to the Take That days and the solo career and if you buy the updated version the reunion. Probably the most interesting parts concern his relationships with key people such as the Take That manager Nigel Martin-Smith and Robbie Williams. Gary is also honest enough to admit failings and some levels of immaturity in certain situations which... Read review
