I am going to write an op about Gatecrasher @ The NEC in Birmingham. I went to an all night - twice yearly - event on November 16th last year! This had to be the best indoor event I have ever been too! Gatecrasher is a club in Sheffield that have BIG resident DJ's such as Eddie Halliwell, Scott Bond & Matt Hardwick. They have one big clubbing night a month and the rest of the month have clubbing parties globally. Gatecrasher is a very big clubbing name and it is known all around the world. Back to the NEC................... Ticket Price - £34.50 with booking fee (my total was £38.00) Venue ... more

    Advantages Advantages choons, friendly people

Disadvantages Disadvantages drinks a bit dear. ticket prices

Gatecrasher is held in Sheffield in the Republic nightclub, so i'm not commenting on the festival just the night in Sheffield. Before i went to Gatecrasher i had seen many pictures of people dressing up in funny gear and dying their hair a funny colour. However, there is so much more to gatecrasher than it's reputation gives it. Firstly, although we faced a long queue to get in, this was expected as the event is very popular as is packed most saturday nights. Expect to start queing from around 10 - 10.30pm due to the length of the queues. If your looking for a cheap night then this won't be ... more

Advantages Advantages Make a friend for the night

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Cheesy trance

It had been a long while since I had ventured back into the sweaty realms of Sheffield's largest Saturday night out, but when I did I was very shocked. It wasn't the atmosphere, it wasn't even the cheesey trance that seems to be prevelent in most dodgy substandard night clubs you may find yourself wishing you weren't in. It was the hundreds upon hundreds of pink/blue/white glo sticks that were thrust in my face by countless wide eyed and bushy tailed clubbers that I happened to walk past. I had found myself in yet another one of the 2 a penny nite spots you could find on a holiday in Maguluf ... more

Advantages Advantages Atmosphere - Soundsystem - Lineup - People

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lineup Mixups

This was one amazing event!! After daring homelands in the rain, and creamfields the year before I can safely say this was by far the best. They kept it simple but effective, didn’t go to over the top and they coped brilliantly!! One of the most annoying aspects of outdoor dance festivals has gotta be weather and quality of the sound system... and gatecrasher had em both :o) The night started off with a wander round the site, in our group there was Jojo, Sy, Rob, Dave and not forgetting me and we were all loving it to bits!! The people their were fantastic, and during the day you could just ... more

    Advantages Advantages Excellent all-nighter

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't think of any except toilets...

I must admit, this was the 3rd year that i have been to Gatecrasher summer Sound System. About the only problem I can remember (Surprised I can remember anything actually) is that it didn't open on time. It must have been about 45 minutes late, which, when you are hyped up for something and have just travelled 2 hours, you just wanna get in there... Anyway, having been to Homelands and also went to Godskitchen a month later, I found this to be the best dance festival of the year. The tunes were excellent, as were the laser's. All facilities etc were spot on (except the toilets - I don't think ... more
