Whether you are the IT administrator for a large network or the computer 'guru' for a growing business, there are certain basic concerns you have to address when standardizing on a desktop PC. You want a PC that's powerful enough to handle the most common business applications, but small enough and flexible enough to fit the tightest workspace. You want a system that delivers easy installation and advanced manageability without straining the limits of IT budget. In short, you need the Gateway E-3200, delivering the latest in manageability and serviceability in space-saving chassis. ...This system will need upgrades. If you plan to use it for simple uses such as, browsing the internet, playing simple games, downloading music (not a lot of music), typing word documents, and sending e-mails. If so, this system would be sufficient.
This system will definately need a memory upgrade. 128MB is not enoguh memory to function properly. This is a basic stock model system. If you are looking to do anything fancy or at a fast pase, this is not the system for you.
Gateway technical support (1-800-846-2301) would be more than happy to assist you with upgrading the system, all you need to provide them with is the serial number for the machine (located at the back of the tower).
The sound is integrated, but upgradeable with a standard PCI soundcard. You would also be able to upgrade the video card in the same fashion.
Overall...

Advantages: upgradeable Disadvantages: stock model
...The first thing your are going to do when buying the Gateway is check the manufacturer's warranty. For Gateway, to find out about the warranty on the sys, you have two options. For detailed warranty you will need to contact Gateway's Customer Service department, (1-800-846-2301),and give the serial number for the system, or go to the gateway website (www.gateway.com) and input the serial number in the support link.
This system is completely upgradeable except for the processor, as with most of the Gateway systems. This is a stock model. With 256MG of memory you will need to upgrade unless you don't mind the system running slow. It has a 10GB hard drive, which was more than enough in the early 90's, but for today's standards hard drives start from 20GB and up. The sound is integrated and would be sufficient, but you would be able...
