I think that without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best support service I have had - the fact that it is a freephone number helps a great deal, and the support stands even when outside of waranty. When I rang Tiny for some support, at firs I tried the normal, local rate number. They first spent about 3 minutes confirming I was out of warranty, by which time, I could have had my very basic question answered! I then had to ring the premium line service (60p per minute) and the guy spoke extremely slowly!! Gateway, however, explained to me indepth how to solve a similar problem on my other PC, and even though I was put on hold for about 10 mins, it was worth it as I wasn't paying. Also, Gateway staff are very courteous and personable, vene when I was irate about the glitch (my computer was barely 3 days old at the time). I would advise people to think very carefully when purchasing a PC about things like this - Gateway will even offer advice for stuff they do not support, though it may not be the most effective advice. The value of a freephone support line cannot be underestimated, and is worth paying slightly more for the computer in the first place.
