I wrote this review during my pregnancy, when gaviscon was a must have for me....I'd never experienced heartburn in my life before I was pregnant. Then, at around 5 month pregnant, it came with aveangence. Now, as anyone who has been pregnant will appreciate, there are many (unpleasant!) side effects of pregnancy that you simply have to put up with (backache, sickness, even the dreaded 'farmer giles'), and you are unable to take many medications because of your little bundle of joy. However, luckily Gaviscon is safe for use during pregnancy and I think I've single handedly doubled their ... more

As I’m an infrequent sufferer of heartburn it is essential that I ensure I keep the appropriate remedies in my home and I feel this is the appropriate time to post my review on Ciao, particularly as many of us will be over indulging over the Christmas period! WHAT IS HEARTBURN? Fortunately, hubby has never in his life experienced the misery and discomfort of heartburn and for those of you who are unaware of the symptoms I would advise that it is presented to us in a number of forms, such as food regurgitation, burning pain behind the breastbone or a taste of acid in the back of the throat. I ... more

I had never suffered heartburn at all until I became pregnant with my daughter. During my pregnancy I could hardly leave the house without taking a swig of Gaviscon to relieve the discomfort. My daughter is now 17 and unfortunately I have suffered bouts of indigestion and heartburn occasionally ever since. I have found that Zantac tablets are fantastic but they are also expensive and take a little while to work so I tend to keep a small bottle of Gaviscon in my medicine cupboard for when I need immediate relief. I don’t use this often so I prefer to buy the small bottle which is only 150ml and ... more

As I am sure a lot of people know when you're pregnant that heartburn can be a common pregnancy problem and it certainly was for me. When I was pregnant with my son a couple of years ago I was prescribed Gaviscon on prescription to help with my heartburn. I found it so worked so well for me despite the taste that I have always got a bottle in the cupboard now. The Gaviscon that I buy generally comes in a brown glass bottle that can be recycled. It has a child safe cap to it as well. The gavisicon itself is an opaque liquid with off-white to cream color. The active ingredients of the mixture ... more

Gaviscon Peppermint Liquid Relief is a mixture you can buy for relief of heartburn symptoms.
