When my son had his birthday party last year we wanted something different for the younger kids to go alongside the bouncy castle that we had hired. We came across two bubble machines from Argos. Argos one looked bigger and better then the other one but thought we would stick with a well known branded one as we thought this would be better quality.

We could only get the pink and grey one which actually went down quite well at boys birthday party. Though is he'd been a couple of years older I cant see this going down well at tall.

================ The Gazellion Bubble Machine ======================
As far as I know this only comes in two different colours. The green and purple and yellow and the pink and grey one. We could only get the pink and grey one which actually went down quite well at boys birthday party. Though is he'd been a couple of years older I cant see this going down well at tall.
The bubble machine is quite small and light weight then I expected but still you get many of bubbles. The machine measures 8.25 in x 7.75 in x 5.5 in. There's a nice little carry handle on the top. The handle is also made of thin plastic but is also quite sturdy at the same time.
Looking inside the bubble machine is the wands that are already attached on. Then the fans that are under the wands and are quite well hidden. Though even if your children have small enough fingers to stick through the holes then they wont get hurt because once the lid is lifted then the fans cut out straight away. Making them very safe. This has to be one of the safest bubble machines I have known or read out.
The battery compartment is underneath the bubble machine and you will need a screwdriver to undo it. The machine takes 6 x AA batteries. Yep they don't come included with the machine. Then there is also a on / off switch that is on the side of the bubble machine. ============== The Wands ==================== I think that this is what they are called. This is one big wand that has around 10 little circle wands attached to the main one. These go round at the same time. So you get many more bubbles at each time then you would if you was using one. The wand does come off easy for cleaning. ============== The Fans ==================== This was my main concern when buying any bubble machine. Young kids and fans don't mix very well together, especially young kids that are all high on E numbers. Though the fan is well hidden inside the machine. So little fingers cant actually get stuck in the fan. Though if your child can get his fingers inside then not to worry as the machine and the fan will only go if the lid is closed down. As soon as the lid is lifted up then the fan and the bubbles stop. So all in all this makes this very safe for little ones to be around. The fans are nosey so be warned !!!!!=============== Filling The Bubble Machine ===================== Filling up is easy do a child could do it. Though be warned the little bottle of bubble solution that you get with this bubble machine only lasted two fillings. So if you are having a party or tend to use this for a long time make sure that you buy the re-fill pack as well. So the kids don't get disappointed.
To fill up the machine just simply unclick the lid by the button that is on the front of the machine just under where the bubbles come from. there is a little reservoir under the wand. This is where you need to tip the bubble solution into. there is also a min line and a max line. If you only tip a tiny amount in then you need to make sure that it reaches the min line as you would not get any bubbles otherwise. Likewise with the max line. Don't over fill the machine as it will leak out and make a mess everywhere usually through the bottom of the machine.
============== Batteries. ====================
This does take 6 X AA batteries and yes you have guessed it they don't come with the machine either. They are easy to place them into the machine though you will need a Philips screw driver. The battery compartment is located underneath the machine. Though just a quick tip place the batteries in before you fill the machine up.
I cant really comment on the battery life as we did only use this the once. Though we did have it on for around 4 to 5 hours and it was still going strong then. ============= Cleaning =================== Well this is easy to clean and it's only a matter of using a damp cloth inside and out. The wand does come off for cleaning and it's only a matter of pulling it off. =========== Price & Where To Buy =================
We brought ours from Argos and only paid £9.99 which was a great bargain really. Most places do sell these are for around the same price. Here's just a few I have found -
John Lewis - Product code - 75319001 - £9.95 Woolworthes - £9.99, Batteries included with this one. Shop.Com - Item 495 - £14.95
You can also buy the bubble mixture refill packs or buy them in single packs. Any bubble mixture will work well.
============= My Thoughts =================== Well it nearly did the job on the day and kept most kids entertained and laughing and trying to catch the bubbles. Then by some hours later the older kids soon got board and started throwing sand in the machine and at the bubbles. Thanks to my sons uncle who brought him the dam sandpit.
Anyway great for younger kids all the same. The thing we found out is that it's better to place the bubble machine onto a table as this gives maximum effect and seems to produce more bubbles then when it's on the floor. Also when it's on the floor most of the bubbles that come out pop almost immediately and ends up just making a mess on the floor,
Does take quite a lot of the solution to get to the max line of the bubble machine. I think we got to fill ups from one bottle. Fairy liquid \I thought would work great but in fact it's rubbish and only makes a mess that is really horrible to clean up. Cheap shampoo works great. You know the stuff that only cost around 10p for a large bottle. Morrison brand works great and produces more bubbles that the bubble solution.
The machine is very noisy or rather the fans are anyway. You can tell the difference when the fans stop. We had ours outside and you could hear the fans inside the house,
So to sum up………………Great for younger kids but older kids especially boys would soon get board very easy. Though still worth a tenner and can be educational too for younger kids,

Quick review of Gazillion Bubbles
I have purchased two of these, i wont be buying a third, the cost is high for what you get, the batteries don't last one minute, and the bubbles stop coming after awhile, my experience is go for the old fashioned blowing your own bubbles with a wand, but if you do buy one of these, tesco sell the best bubble solution. ...
