18th June was a sad day. It was the day my old mixer died. So it was off to the shops to buy a new Power adapter
"£25" I exclaimed as the burly chap put the adaptor on the counter.....
"What sort of price do your mixers start at?"

Thinking it may as well be better to replace the whole thing, I came across an absolute mint of a bargain.

For £65 I was able to snap up a more feature packed mixer than mine and know it is made by the company that made my original that has lasted over 8 years.

It is a great little unit. It falls into the 10 inch mixers so it is not quite as long as one of your records and easily fits between your decks on a sensible sized table.

Looks and design are great. It is finished in 2 shades of grey with a swirled design embedded into it. Looks a little gimmicky and tacky but it can be forgiven. Anyway, it is normally dark when im DJing.

Many of the switches from my older mixer have been replaced with buttons or turning switches. This is much better as buttons tend to be more forgiving with time as switches tend to break and start generating hiss and crackling. Too much cutting in with the old transform switches and your switch gives up the ghost.
So gone are the switches and in come the punch buttons.
What these do is allow you to quickly cut in a quick blast from a deck even if you are playing records from the other deck. This is great and really gives you much more control. Its easier to push a button in time than rely on switching!
The deck reverse is also a great feature button. It allows you to instantly cut between 2 records with no fade. Good for when you have 2 records in identical time and want to quickly flick between the 2 over and over.

The Crossfader is how you mix between the 2 records. On this mixer, it is so light and easy flowing, you dont even realise you are pushing it. Panning between Deck 1 and 2 is simple. No effort needed. This fluid movement is reflected in the Channel sliders too.
A handy little button sitting under the crossfader allows you to adjust how fierce you want it to be. If you want an abrupt crossfade, you can select the "Sharp" setting. If you want a fluid gradual transition, you can select "Smooth".

For all of the DJ's out there that want to talk over the records, there is a handy microphone socket with complete control. ON the mixer is a feature that allows the Mic to be off, in talkover mode or Mic on its own. There is also a microphone volume switch too.
Each channel on the mixer has plenty of flexibility. For example, My one deck is quieter than the other so I normally need a bit more gain on that side. Having separate gain controls on both channels helps me out greatly.
Add to this the master control that controls the overall sound and you have a pretty versatile mixer.

But wait, theres more.

Turning the mixer around, you have all of the connections. There is inputs for up to 3 devices so you can plug in a CD player and 2 record decks if required. Handy for when you want to add a CD mixer to the occasion. The toggle switches in the front of the mixer allow you to select between different devices so you can leave them all set up and change them without fiddling around the back of the mixer constantly.

Also at the back is the Ground point. Most Record decks need a grounding point otherwise they will generate feedback.Wiring your decks to this point will eliminate noise.
You also have the output connections. These allow you to connect to an external amplifier and a recording device at the same time. Handy for making tapes for your mates.

All of the rear connections are 2 phono plug types.

Back on the front, is the headphone jack point. This is where you plug your headphones in. One thing that did annoy me was that there is no panning switch between the records. You can either hear just channel One or Two through the headphones, not a mix of the 2. There is a volume control but no panning.
It takes a 1/4 inch jack plug from the headphones.

Overall it a great performing mixer for the money. You cannot find anything this good or as cheap as this unit did retail at £90 until they were reduced. If you need a new budget mixer with all of the features, buy this!
