Fab Shop for almost everything!!! Advantages: Reasonable prices Disadvantages: out of city Where to start! Matalan is an out of city shop (found in retail parks outside the main town), they have over 200 Matalan shops across the UK and offer some very good bargains! Matalan has up to the minute fashion and is very reasonably priced and some items are cheaper than the usual shops (like New Look etc.) Matalan have a reward store card which offers up to 50% off with special offers sent to you once registered. Matalan have Ladies Clothes ... ...you can shop online! Matalan is a great place for bargains too, especially when the sale season starts! I picked up a Bolero Jacket for £9 instead of £18 the other day, I found that very reasonable indeed and ment I had a bit more money to find some other bargains! They have a fantastic shoe range for women, ranging from flats to high heels and reasonably priced too! The shoes are in all different sizes and easy to find. Car boot sales: flog your unwanted junk Advantages: Get rid of your rubbish for money, or you can pick up a bargain from a seller Disadvantages: Pay to get in means you instantly lose money, but you should gain it back if you're selling The world of car booting is a creative art, and its shocking how many people have either never been, have no idea what goes on, and haven't even heard of a car boot sale. For those avid sellers, they get up at 5:00 in the morning, take their overflowing car to a big field so that they can embrace a brilliant spot for potential buyers to invest in their old junk. For those potential buyers, depending on how fanatical they are about spotting a bargain, ... ...of items on tables, rugs, car boots, absolutely anywhere where sellable items can be displayed. The last time I sold at a car boot sale, it was at Weeley in Essex. Grab a Bargain! Advantages: Some real bargains to be had! Disadvantages: Staff need to cheer up a bit! ...I take a look in Poundland I wasn’t so sure. The Concept Well as the name of the store would suggest, the general concept of Poundland is to sell various items including toiletries, food items, pet food, stationary and many more, for just £1.00 each. Often brand snobs (such as me!) are led to believe that all these items must be cheap and tacky. My belief was ‘they are cheap for a reason’. However I was pleasantly surprised to find that there ... ...uses Lynx deodorant, however in Poundland you can find this (yes you guessed it for £1.00!) under the name of Africa. I have often found products in there that I have never heard of but after trying them out have seen them hit regular shops at full price. Some examples of the best bargains I have found in Poundland included Iams cat food, this usually retails at over £4.00 a bag. HOW DISSAPOINTING!!!! Advantages: IF YOU LIKE SWEETS ITS THE PLACE FOR YOU Disadvantages: EVERYTHING ELSE ...extremely excited to here that hobbycraft was opening up locally and waited in aticipation for it to open and i was nothing but DISSAPOINTED with the place. The front of the shop was taken up by sweet and xmas trees, where is the craft in that. I find hobbycraft very over priced and the level of service is nowhere near as good as you get in little craft stores. I visit a craft store in middlesbrough and the staff are extremely helpful.
