William Blake is one of the greatest poets in history, in my humble opinion. Much of my life has been influenced by his writing, and I have adored his work for a number of years. There have been points in my life where his works have been a second bible, and I've often woken up in my sleep mumbling "Robin redbreast in a cage, puts all heaven in a rage.. must save robin, must save robin.." in a rather Doctor Who style way.
Born in 1757, Blake was ... ...or beliefs, I feel that William Blake can touch you. He doesn't always make sense, but he did speak from the heart. He died in 1827, with no money, no fame, nothing to reward him for a life's work that is remembered 170 years later, and if I have anything to do with it, will be remembered for a lot longer! ...

The work of William Blake is just heartbreakingly beautiful. If the concept of God revolves around the presence of love and happiness and joy and passion then the poetry and mythology of this man is holy. Indeed his work is so astonishing that the interpretation of his poetry has been a reference point for my development as a human being for the last year:
The Blossom
Merry Merry Sparrow,
Under leaves so green, A happy Blossom
Sees you swift ... ...Pretty Pretty Robin,
Under leaves so green,

Hears you sobbing, sobbing.
Pretty Pretty Robin
Near my Bosom.
Where can one begin? Why would someone want to start picking this entity apart? Its seems so pure and untouchable- the perfect metaphor for the little sparrow, the singular rhyming couplet in both verses perhaps conveying the spontinaity of nature.
