Every one in this day and age wants, and usually needs a good night's sleep, but often after a hard days work we just flake out in the arm chair or on the nearest couch.
Being the type of people who enjoy company, we brought a sofa bed for those occasions when friends stop over and sleeping places are needed. It was a great option, as the comfort of this couch often allows me to catch up on my sleep between times, and has also proved useful at other times like when decorating.
The model of sofa bed here, is the Geneva Clic-Clac as sold by Argos. It's a very well designed unit that is classed as a permanent sleeper, hence no worries about it collapsing after a few uses. Also the design as a sofa is excellent, and easily matches up to some of the more expensive lounge suits. You can opt between two different seating positions too, 1 as a standard upright back, or 2, as an inclined back, both of which have their own benefits.
The design of the sleeping position is really good, and unlike most sofa beds it has real sprung mattresses. Yes i did say mattresses. Two of them side by side, joined only by a piece of material. This makes sleeping even more comfortable, and in particular when it's used as a double bed. Being separate mattresses, your body weight is much more evenly distributed. The base area is set around a metal frame with wooden slats, which are also very flexible and well able to compensate for extra heavy people, whether as a seat or a bed. It also has a fair sized storage area beneath the frame work ideal for bed linen etc.
As already said, it's a fine looking piece of furniture and the fabric is also very nice. It's what they call Polyamide, I just call it Velour, as it is like a brushed velvet effect. Either way it looks and feels great, and even expensive. The overall size is also more than adequate, and being almost six and a half foot long with 3 sculpted seating places, it's big enough for pretty much everyone.
So can i recommend it? Without doubt YES! As a bed or a couch it's unbeatable, both in value and style.
