The PS3 has a lot of catching up to do.
Its over a year behind the 360, its had lots of negative press about the price and its delays.
So to shut everybody up, you would think that Sony would release a killer app. One that looks stunning on your new ps3, plays better than anything that the current gen consoles can do and is just an amazing game.....
Well for some reason Sony didnt do that, they did this.
Genji Days of the Blade is the sequel to Genji on the PS2. You would be forgiven for not knowing this as the PS2 version (although quite good) sort of flopped in the UK.
So Sony took another stab at it.
The problem is that where as the PS2 version made the best of the hardware, this version dosnt.
The tech specs for the PS3 are amazing, so on paper any game thatis released has the potential to look amazing too. But with the exception of a few nice areas this is nothing special.
But graphics can be forgiven if the gameplay is up to scratch.....
But no.
4 playable characters each as dull as the other with a list of about 2 usable attacks.
Combat just has no meat to it.
It feels like your hitting the enemies with a rubber bat and not a solid sword.
And speaking of enemies, they are so dull and un-engaging that you almost feel sorry for them.
But there is some enjoyment to be had out of the game, the camera angles are so poor that you will burst out in fits of laughter.
Do yourself a favour. Save the £40 this costs and buy all the onimusha games instead.
