I recieved a Lean Green fat reducing grilling machine for Christmas 2 years ago and since then has become an integral part of my kitchen.
'George' as it is effectionatly known resides in the corner of my kitchen where he is periodically called into action to cook all manner of things when I dont want to dirty the grill. Ideal for all manner of foods, but especially steaks, Burgers, Sausages and Bacon. Fish and Vegetables can also be cooked on the grill.
The wearing of Boxing Gloves whilst cooking is not recommended!
Currently retailing at £39.99 (www.currys.com) but available much cheaper online and can be found regularly on Ebay, second hand.
George comes comlete with the following specifications and functions:
-Non stick coated cooking plates, Food will not stick to this thing, it has a ridged cooking surface which leaves those cool lines on burgers and steaks!
-Extra Large cooking area. 6 Large burgers or 4 large chicken breasts in one go, mean that this is ideal for cooking for the whole family, or just for greedy people like me.
-Variable temp control & 20 min timer, Sliding temperature control, usually advised to stay on 'Max', timer and alarm mean that 'george' can be left un-attended.
-Deep grilling slots carry run-off grease, Especiall impressive if cooking burgers or sausages, see the fat drain away
-Thermostat controlled ready light, Tells you when he is ready to go!
-Floating hinge for even cooking, The lid sits at different levels, depending on what you wish to cook, can be a pain if cooking items of different widths like Bacon with sausages.
-Easy to clean grilling plates, Usually only take a quick wipe, UNLESS like me you let them go cold and then they are a real pain and water goes everywhere.
-2 drip trays to catch run-off fat, You only need 1, but it comes with 2!
-2 specially designed spatulas, 2 small ridged spatulas make it easy to remove food once cooked, and are especially handy when cleaning.
-Cooking Guide, Gives a guide on how to cook different types of food, what heat settings to use and how long things will take to cook. this is partuclarly handy during the 1st month of 'George' being in your family.
PRO's Healthier food, cooked fast, cooks from frozen, neat and tidy when not in use.
CON's Can leave food dry, hard to clean if cold, uneven cooking of some foods.
Note- Doesnt do eggs, they run off into the drip tray, trust me ive tried!
Overall I would recommend 'George' to anyone with a hectic lifstyle who enjoys food and fast.
*Ive added this part as my 'wonderful' George has just DIED! Making a funny buzzing noise and no heat-very dissapointed after only 16 months!*
